•Bayne's POV•

The pain was unlike anything I had ever experienced before in my entire life as a wolf. My body was hot, like I was being burned at the stake. Every time I fell asleep, nightmares found their way into my head. They didn't realize that every time I was asleep, it was as painful as reality. I would never tell them that, they thought they were helping me.

I bit the belt in attempt to muffle my screams when Raven and Erin performed the spell. He was strong, but I wished he would've let go.  I knew he'd go to the ends of the earth for me, but I knew it was time to end that if the spell didn't work.

The pain of the spell forced me in and out of consciousness. Then, I was alone. I stood in the forest, but it was much darker. I saw them all. My parents, Finn, Erin, and all the friends I've made. Bree had them lined up. One by one, she began dicing them up with an axe.

I couldn't move. I was stuck where I was, unable to close my eyes. The brutal witch saved Erin for last, and his death was the most gruesome. It was like Bree had tailored the night terrors for me.

I slipped back into consciousness. My eyes flickered. I saw a flash of Erin, and a flash of Romulus. I heard Nadine and Raven. My body felt cooler, but my stomach was extending.

"What's going on!" I pushed out.

"I don't know! The spell-."

I fell out of consciousness once more and returned to the dreams. The dream was the opposite of the nightmares I had before. It was heaven.

Erin and I were wearing white. I turned to see the gentle rush of the ocean. I looked down to see golden sand between our toes. The air smelled like coconuts. Warm beaches weren't a common sight in my life, it was mainly fog and trees.

I was in complete control of my body. I reached for Erin's hand. A silver band on his ring finger glimmered in the sunlight. I looked down at my hand. Mine did too.

"Come on, Bayne. Let's go swim." Erin playfully pulled at my hand.

The beach was empty besides me and him. I heard seagulls call into the distance. The ocean called to me. The sun was bright. A light sea breeze blew open my unbuttoned top.

I must be dead, I thought. It was paradise. We began to walk along the beach. Everything felt so real. I waited for things to dark, but they didn't. Everything felt right for once in my life. There was no evil dread to be carried. It was peace.

I stood in the golden sand looking at Erin. I realized that it wasn't life, and it wasn't paradise either. My paradise was living my real, full life with real Erin in the tiny cabin I built us. No fantasy beach could ever compare to that.

The next thing I remember, I woke up with Erin's hand in mine.

"Bayne! You're awake!" He said.

My eyes began to slowly adjust to reality. I wasn't burning up anymore. My body almost felt normal.

I pushed myself up to sit up. My stomach felt like something was tugging at it. My stomach felt like someone had used it as a punching bag.

"Be careful, let me help you. Romulus! He's awake!" Erin yelled. His hand didn't separate from mine.

"What happened? Am I dead?"
