2007 was welcomed with everyone’s open arms at the Ministry New Years’ Party. And just like the previous years, this one was promised to be full for everyone.

Valentine’s Day brought not only the news that Hermione was expecting her second child, but also Alicia Spinnet the surprise of being asked in marriage by Lee Jordan. With the greatest joy, she screamed out yes and called Angelina and Katie in the next instant to tell them the good news and ask them to be the maids of honor. They immediately started to plan the ceremony for much of Mrs. Spinnet happiness. As a traditional lady, she wasn't comfortable with the fact her daughter wasn’t married to her grandson’s father, specially when it was so obvious they both loved each other so much.

Seamus and Susan were bonded as husband and wife in mid-March and the party couldn’t have been better and more well-talked. Half the Ministry was invited and it was considered the wedding of the year. The other two events that had received such attention inside the Ministry was probably the Potters’ wedding and one year later Hermione’s and Ron’s. But, just after Mr. and Mrs. Finnegan came back from their honeymoon in the south of Spain, they were invited for a Sunday lunch at Hermione and Ron’s home, where the couple asked if they wanted to be their son’s godparents.

When everything seemed to have already happened in the first three months of the year, Audrey announces at the 9th Anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts that she was too pregnant. She hadn't yet told Percy and the look on her husband’s face was one for history. Percy’s face went white and he choked with the turkey he was eating at Victoire’s 8th birthday lunch. Mrs. Weasley was about to explode with so many good news and her daycare was starting get more business everyday, specially during the summer when the older kids didn’t go to school.

But the Potter’s couldn't wait for July to come. Harry and Ginny indeed had taken into their hands to plan a vacation for the family. Teddy was probably the one more excited about it all, despite his complaints of being two weeks away from Victoire and Tobias, his two best friends.

After several weeks debating where to go, they settled with Los Angeles, California. After George gave them the TV set, the couple became quite addicted to a few movies and TV series and decided it would be amazing to meet where it all was made. With some research, Ginny found out that near L.A., there was a large wizarding city they could visit as well. Harry arranged their documents and a portkey and on July 3rd (after Dom’s birthday; James wouldn’t want to miss it for the world) they would leave for their first family vacation.

“It’s today! It’s today.” Teddy commemorated, running down the stairs to find Harry and Ginny at the kitchen, eating their breakfast.

“Good you’re excited, buddy.” Harry smiled, giving Albus his bottle, while Ginny feed James. “Is your stuff all packed?”

“Yes. Mummy helped me last night.” Teddy informed, accepting his breakfast from Flory.

After the meal, Harry collected all of their suitcases and shrunk them to fit in his trousers’ pocket. Ginny placed Albus on his stroller and James was picked up by his father. They took one last glance to their house, before saying goodbye to Flory and closing the front door. Once outside the protective wards, the family apparated to the British Ministry where their portkey was arranged to leave in about twenty minutes.

Bernard was waiting for them at the Portkey Office in level six with a cup of tea in hands. He smiled as he saw his new best friend arriving with James on his arms.

“Morning, Potter.” Ben greeted, pulling James from Harry.

“Morning. What are you doing here?” Harry asked, giving their documents to the employee responsible for checking who comes in and out of the country.
