Ginny Potter was indeed an hard person to keep secrets from. After she cornered Hermione at the Leaky Cauldron the other night, she went with her freaked out friend to St. Mungo’s to have a pregnancy test to make sure. Positive, it was the result.

Hermione, contrary to what anyone would expect, was not keeping it together. Neither her nor Ron were a bit ready to commit to a baby. They hadn’t yet fully understood their responsibilities as godparents’ to James, how would they manage a human being entirely on their own? If Ginny thought she overreacted to her pregnancy test, she stood herself corrected. Hermione was a hundred times worse. How could she have saved the whole Wizarding World, but can't manage the fact she's going to be a mother?

“CALM DOWN, HERMIONE!” Ginny yelled, when the Healer finally left them alone.

“I CAN’T. RON WILL KILL ME! HOW COULD I BE THAT STUPID?”

“ARE YOU SAYING I’M ALSO STUPID FOR GETTING PREGNANT?”

Hermione opened and closed her mouth like a goldfish. She took a few breaths to calm herself down. When she looked up to face Ginny again, she saw how she had hurt her. “I’m sorry. No, of course you’re not stupid for getting pregnant. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.” She gave the redhead a hug who returned it after a bit. “I’m just not ready. Nor is Ron, for all that matters.”

Ginny conjured a chair and sat beside the bed Hermione was laying, holding her hands. “Well, that isn’t very important now, is it? I don’t understand why are you so crazy about it. It’s not like you’re the first to get knock up in this family. At least you’re married with the love of your life, with a good and stable job and an huge supportive family. It could be worse.”

“You’re right, Ginny. I guess I may have overreacted a bit.”

“You guess? A bit?” Ginny snorted. Hermione preferred to overlook Ginny’s sarcasm.

“But, can we keep it a secret for awhile? I mean, Ron and Harry are still away, so there’s no point in telling anyone yet.”

“Sure. It will be our secret. One of the many we hold, right?” Ginny laughed. “And I wouldn’t want to be over shined on my baby shower anyways.”

“What baby shower?” Hermione furrowed her eyebrows, trying to hold an innocent face.

“Oh, was it a surprise?” When Hermione didn’t answer, she carried on. “You girls know nothing about surprises, do you?”

“HOW? How in the world did you find out?” Hermione was almost hurt. She had been contacting the whole female gang in secrecy, planing the perfect baby shower for Ginny. They would ‘kidnap’ her and head to a cabin in the forest Hermione had rent for a night. They also got a rental car (more of a van, to be exact) and they would drive it there, enjoying some quality time, instead of just portkeying to the place.

It would be just all of their female friends and family, without Molly who had offered to watch out for the kids. Initially, Molly was also going to join them, but then they thought about it a bit better and they figured that leaving three kids in the care of the Arthur and George wouldn’t be very wise. Bill would be away that weekend on a business trip for Gringotts and Charlie, well, he takes care of dragons for a living, what good would he be at babysitting two toddlers and a baby?

Ginny stared at Hermione with a malicious grin on her lips. She was determined to never let her know how she ended up finding out.

Three days before Ginny and Hermione went to St. Mungo's so the latter could get a pregnancy test, Ginny had floo-called her mum. She wanted help on a recipe she wasn't able to master. The redhead was trying to bake some cupcakes for Teddy. The boy seemed a little down with Harry's long absence. That morning, Ginny had found him in their study, going throw the old photo album Hagrid gave Harry many many years before. She felt so bad about it, she immediately went to the kitchen to do some sweets for her godson.
