When the race was over and they had eaten dessert together John and Charlie and their girlfriends left to attend their day jobs the next day.
Willow stayed for 5 more days mostly helping her mother in the garden or her dad with the car in the garage that he was fixing. Since she was the youngest of the three children being alone with her parents was quite normal to her as her brothers moved to London five years before she moved out too.
On Friday the 3rd she took the train back home. The weather was nice so she would have loved to drive to the city with the Alpha Spider but sadly she wouldn't have a place to park it since she couldn't just leave it out on the street in case it rained.
She finally got to her apartment at 9pm and went straight to bed. Willow loved her parents, but she just wasn't used to spending so much time with them anymore and it was sort of draining her energy.
The next day her alarm went off at 8am which she quickly turned off and continued to sleep in until 10. Saturday and Sunday weren't exciting, she mostly perfected the main body of her thesis and went to bed early after a full day of working. The only relieve to the monotony was on Sunday where she turned the TV on in the afternoon to have a quick look at how George was doing. She couldn't help but be curious. He had told her about the two races in Belgium and now the Netherlands, so she wanted to see what it was about without her dad and her brothers around.
The cars were already on lap 35 out of 72 and George seemed to struggle, being stuck in 15th place. Willow watched a few laps while eating an apple. She didn't understand much of what the commentators were saying about strategy or tyre choice but when they showed a slow-motion shot of George in turn 11 battling with Raikönnen she got more invested and unconsciously sat down on the couch to keep watching.
She watched until the race was over and George finished in P11. As far as she understood that meant he just missed out on points, which was quite unfortunate for him. She turned the TV off and stayed on the couch for a bit staring at the black screen.
Was she already getting too involved again? She couldn't let herself do that. If it were to work out with George in any way, she had to get the mind under control. She shook it off and went back to work until Carmen came over to her apartment so they could cook dinner together.
Willow told Carmen about her date with George the next day, not mentioning who Willow now knew he was – it wasn't important for Carmen to know, it didn't make him any different. Carmen was hesitant to be happy for Willow at first but after she assured her it was fine and that she had it under control she said that Willow should do what felt right.
Willow and Carmen talked for a while after dinner until Carmen left at 11 and Willow once again fell into bed and was immediately knocked out. She didn't know what it was but she was totally lacking energy.
On Monday Willow woke up at 6am in the morning and whatever she tried she couldn't get back to sleep. And as if that wasn't enough to ruin her day, everything else that could possibly go wrong also went wrong. First, she tripped over a bag she had left on the floor right on her way to the bathroom, making her ankle hurt like shit, then the water in the shower wouldn't turn on and she had to call her landlord and was faced with the fact that she possibly couldn't shower until the next day. Already annoyed by everything she went into the kitchen to make a cup of green tea and noticed she didn't have a single teabag left.
Fully frustrated and annoyed now she made her way to the couch and turned on the TV to watch an episode or two of Modern Family, because she really couldn't think of anything else to do right now. Her landlord said he would send someone over to fix the shower but he couldn't say at what time so Willow couldn't just leave to get new tea bags or she would probably miss the mechanic.
As she watched the first episode she decided that she wouldn't do much else that day until George came to get her. Nothing good would come out of this day so spending it on the couch in her underwear and a shirt seemed like the smartest choice to her.
While the second episode played she went and made herself a slice of toast with butter and returned with it in hand to keep watching.
Like this and with a bottle of water she spent the whole day, including two powernaps in between, in front of the TV. It was actually exactly what she had needed right now – a little break from everything.
Around 4 in the afternoon the mechanic finally came, tried to fix the shower but failed. He said he didn't have the right piece and would return on Wednesday to fix it.
It still took him an hour though so when he left at 5 it was already time for Willow to start getting ready. She washed her body with a wet cloth, shaved her legs in the sink and washed her face. Her hair was slightly greasy, so Willow decided to put it in a very slick laid back low bun to make it less obvious it wasn't freshly washed.
She put on a green silk slip skirt that reached her ankles paired with a white mini tee that barely reached the waistband of the skirt and hugged her upper body nicely although her boobs were rather small. She would also take a black cashmere sweater with her since it got quite cold in the evenings.
As her wristwatch showed 6.50 o'clock she put on her white sneakers which also had green details and sat back down on her couch to wait for George to ring her bell.
