OC: Riley Irvine
You know, usually I find accents attractive, but for some reason, I just couldn't stand the sound a particular British boy. I sat at a table in catering with my sister, Ava, when Kip Sabian and Miro appeared on the tv screen for a promo. I cringed as Kip started to speak.
"Will you stop pretending that you don't love hearing him talk," Ava said with a smirk on her face.
I looked at her with a confused expression.
"Oh, don't give me that look," Ava said, rolling her eyes. "I'm your sister, so you can't lie to me."
"I'm not lying to you," I said, shrugging. "I can't fucking stand him."
"You know it's not good to lie to yourself," Ava replied, shaking her head.
I didn't reply. Instead, I just sat there and continued munching on my cookie.
After a few minutes, I heard that same British accent talking as they entered catering. I sighed heavily and excused myself.
"I'll meet you in the locker room," I told Ava before walking out of catering.
As I walked down the hallway, my mind wandered back to what Ava said. And, while I will never admit it, my sister was right. I am lying to myself. I putt off that I hated Kip Sabian, but the truth of the matter is, that British accent gives me so many butterflies. Every time I heard him talk, my heart started racing. I let out a heavy sigh as I finally made it to the locker room. I walked in and shut the door behind me. When I looked up, I nearly jumped out of my skin.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked the man sitting on one of the chairs.
"I came to talk to you,"
There it was. That accent that made my heart race.
"What do you want to talk about, Kip?" I asked, putting my hands in my pockets.
Kip got up and walked over to me.
"Do you hate me?" Kip asked, after a few moments of silence.
"I don't know, Kip," I said, letting out a sigh.
"You keep avoiding me," Kip replied.
I just looked at him, not really knowing what to say.
"You always leave the room every time I walk in." Kip continued, rubbing his hands up and down my arms.
I sighed and looked up at him. He was looking at me with the saddest expression I've ever seen. I was racking my brain trying to think of something to say, but I couldn't think of anything. Kip and I just looked at each other for a few seconds.
The next thing I knew, Kip brought his hands to my waist and pulled me into him before pressing his lips to mine. I didn't hesitate to kiss him back while wrapping my arms around his neck. The kiss only lasted a few moments before Kip pulled away and leaned his forehead against mine.
"Can I ask you something?" Kip asked, softly. "And be honest with me."
I looked at him with a questioning expression.
"It's the accent, isn't it?" He asked with a smirk.
"Ugh," I said, pushing him away from me. "I hate you."
I turned to leave the locker room when I heard him chuckle.
"It's not good to lie to yourself, love," Kip said.
