You sat there at your desk again that Thursday morning, twiddling your feather pen in your fingers, ready to write but with nothing to say. It was extremely embarrassing to be once a great Author to now not even being able to write a sentence with more than 5 words. you stared at the blank page, remembering how everyone congratulated you when you published your pride and joy, your very first book. Things were different back then, you were happy and hopeful, past you didn't know what was coming
you were ripped from your deep thoughts when you heard your phone buzz, you normally don't bring it into your study as to not distract you but what's the use when there is nothing to distract you from? it was from your best friend, Aria Miller. you had been friends since pre-school and got close quickly since you both went through a block phase, i mean you were four so it was to be expected.

your mother was something of.. a treasure? (full sarcasm) she was bitchy, pushy and didn't know how to keep a secret to save her life, you've never really gotten along with her and you didn't plan to start to
just as you were about to turn your phone off again and stare into nothingness to pass the time you heard it go off again, it was your mum for the 17th time today but this time.. she was calling
"ughh, okay it's fine. just get it over with and she'll leave you alone" you said to yourself, you definitely needed that pep talk before talking to her
"Y/N ! i've been trying to get a hold of you all day, why haven't you answered you? she yelled into your ear as soon as you pressed answer
"been extra busy with writing, mum. i'm sorry" you said in a monotone voice
"oh all that writing pish posh again, anyway! your Aunt just got engaged again so there will be an engagement party later today and i expect you to show up." she said in a stern voice, you knew you weren't gonna get out of this one
"isnt this her 3rd engagement in the last 5 years, i'm thinking she's just doing it for the party now" you mumbled
"oh shut y/n, i'm going to go now since i have to help your aunt but don't forget!" she explained before hanging up
