you sat in your seat by your gate at the airport, you always had a fear of flying since you could remember and it just wouldn't go away. you had been to Arias family beach house numerous times but you had always drove their with your family so flying wasn't a problem but that stopped happening a while ago
you fiddled with your boarding pass as you looked around, Lizzie and Aria had gone to get coffees 10 minutes ago and still hadn't returned so you sat alone with your nerves as the time to board got closer
you were just about to leave and go home when lizzie came up behind you and yelled
"boo! here's your coffee, y/n" she laughed at your startled reaction
"geez, don't do that!" you breathed out and then smiled back at her while grabbing the coffee
"what happened to your boarding pass?" she asked curiously
"must've ripped it by accident" you shrugged when you saw it all ripped and creased
"don't worry, mine looks like that too" Aria jumped in as she pulled their crumpled pass out from their jean short pocket
you smiled and shook your head as she tried to smooth it by rubbed in on her thigh like a dollar that wouldn't go into a vending machine
"Gate 5 now boarding, gate 5 now boarding"
this plane ride was going to definitely be something.
you sat in your seat next to Aria, you looked across the aisle and saw lizzie reading a magazine and you smiled to yourself.
"you totally like her" Aria whispered
"shut up, she's still married you know" you hushed her quickly
"yeah to a complete dick" Aria said, rolling her eyes as you waved her off, opened your own magazine and put in your earphones
"hey Lizzie, want to swap seats? y/n snores and i don't think i can deal with it right now" Aria asked, you couldn't hear her since you were blaring music
"oh yeah sure" lizzie smiled, happy she'd get to sit next to you
they swapped seats somehow without you realising, you were just trying to forget you were on a plane so you kept to yourself
the plane began to take off and your nerves were off the charts, you quickly grabbed onto what you thought was Arias hand but you were dead wrong
you looked up expecting to see Aria laughing at you but instead you saw Lizzie giving you a reassuring smile before squeezing your hand to help calm you down. you heart rate rose again but not in a bad way, it was almost fluttery.
you sighed and began to calm down as the plane flew effortlessly through the clouds, you took your earphones out and heard Aria talking to the guy next to her.. poor guy. you looked at lizzie and gestured towards Aria and the very tired looking man who she was talking to, Lizzie chuckled before going back to answering emails
the plane ride was smooth sailing until you were thrown out of your peaceful sleep by turbulence, you quickly looked around to see if anyone else was panicking but it looked like no one else had even noticed. you tried to calm yourself down by playing with your fingers but soon realised you couldn't since your arm was numb, that's weird. you looked next to you and saw Lizzie curled up to you, her head lightly resting on your shoulder with soft snores escaping her mouth.
you held your breathe for a moment, not knowing what to do but you calmed down when your own tiredness caught up with you. you shrugged a little before resting your head on top of hers, nothing bad would happen because of it right?
you woke up again from a light tap on your shoulder, you opened your eyes to see a flight attendant smiling down at you while offering you a bottle of water. you gladly took it and thanked her before stretching and rubbing the sleep from your eyes
"good afternoon, y/n" you heard a small voice say
"oh hello, Lizzie" you yawned, "oh lizzie, sorry" you said startled, sitting up after realising you were still leaning on her
"don't worry, y/n. i enjoyed the close company" lizzie said in a velvety voice
"y-yeah it was nice, wasn't it?" you laughed awkwardly before looking over the aisle towards Aria for backup but you just saw her mouthing,
"oh my god" with big facial expressions
after a couple minutes it was time to leave the plan so the adventure was finally underway, the three of you walked through the airport until you finally saw..
"mom! dad!" Aria yelled practically across the airport before leaving all her luggage with you and running towards them
after awhile lizzie and you both made it towards them, lugging a large amount of bags behind you, you waved before being engulfed in a huge by Arias dad Tim
"hi Tim" you said faintly as he hugged you tighter
"oh this is Elizabeth Olsen, Y/ns new friend" Aria winked
"Lizzie is just fine, nice to meet you" Lizzie said while shaking both of their hands
"how polite, well Lizzie this is going to be a wonderful time i promise!" Jill smiled
"we have plenty of stories of these two we'd love to share with you" Tim chuckled before leading Lizzie and his wife out of the airport
"wait no!" Aria ran after them, again leaving you with the luggage
"i'll be right there!" you called out
