You and lizzie were currently shopping for "office clothes" and that just meant clothes you could actually wear to work. you had already been to most of the appropriate stores in the mall but you were stuck in one particular one for longer than you were expecting, it was filled with blouses and skirts
"come out!" lizzie called to you, she expected to see every outfit that you brought into the change rooms actually on your body
"i look stupid" you grumbled back at her but she persisted and eventually you were standing in front of her
"oh" lizzie said lowly
"i told you i look stupid" you groaned, but before you could walk back in lizzie opened her mouth again
"it's not that.." lizzie replied
"is it too short?" you turned your back towards her and looked down, you couldn't see but lizzie definitely could as her eyes widened at the motion
"yes, yeah sure" she nodded, stumbling over her words before looking down at her phone
so you returned to the change rooms and didn't get the skirt and blouse
by the time the shopping trip was over you had bags of clothes, you didn't know if all of them were perfect for your little job but you bought them anyway because Lizzie liked them and that's pretty much all your mind cared about
when you both parted ways afterwards, photos of the two of you were already littered across the internet, you rolled your eyes playfully at them as everyone was speculating but they didn't know anything you did. you were just friends shopping, that's it
the following week came quicker than usual as you busied your self in between, you were nervous and that was prevalent.
Aria had noticed it and so did Lizzie although none of them said anything you could see it, it was fine though because as soon as you started everything will be fine and it will be apart of your new schedule
you got ready in a nice skirt, a white blouse and covered the rest of you in a long brown coat and then you paired the outfit with simple boots. that's what you saw everyone else wearing so that's what you chose to wear, nothing could go wrong if you did everything everyone else was doing
traffic was intense that morning but you somehow got to work earlier than expected, which you were pleasantly surprised by. you walked in and up to the man at the front desk, he was less busy this morning and actually acknowledged your presence.
"hi welcome to- oh you're the newbie. in the elevator and up to the 9th floor, just under the boss" he quickly said with a half smile before picking up the ringing phone
you said a quick thank you and did what he said, when the elevator doors opened you were greeted with a nice looking middle aged woman
"hi, welcome to our team" she smiled and shook your hand, you did the same back and for the first time all morning you let out a relieved sigh
