Preparation

Pagkatapos malaman ang resulta ng aking entrance exam, ilang meeting ang dinaluhan ko sa aming hotel, naging main stock holder ko imbis na ang mga magulang ko, hindi ko alam paano nangyari 'yon. Sa paglabas ng resulta ng entrance exam ko agad nagdiwang ang pamilya ko, bihira raw may makapasok ang isang bata sa ganoong klaseng paaralan, pinag usapan din kung anong plano ko pagkatapos ng kolehiyo, sinabi ko ang gusto ng aking ina para sa akin. Mamahala sa negosyong hindi ko naman nais. Kahit hindi niya naman isulat ang mga gusto niya para sa akin, natitiyak ko na ayon ang tinakda niya pa sa akin.

Pinilit ko ang sarili kong ngumiti sa buong hapag kahit na hindi ko kaya. Nasa isipian ko pa rin ang nangyari pagkalabas ng hospital.

People are outside of the hospital obviously waiting for us dahil agad silang tumayo ng makita ang aming pamilya. Guards are beside us, kinokontra ang mga taong lumalapit.

"UMALIS KAYO RITO!"

"IBALIK NIYO ANG LUPA NAMIN."

"KAILANGAN NAMIN ANG LUPA!"

Their voices are filled with anger. They are saying familiar. "Ikaw Selene ang magbabayad sa lahat". I asked myb parents about that they are saying that I don't have to mind them. I already talk my secretary about that at nalaman ito ni mommy.

"I told you, you don't have to mind that."

"Why can't I?"

"Because I said so!" she shouted. With her words with finality roared the whole room. I am at her room because she called me about that.

"What?" I don't know what to feel. Do I really have a mind? Bakit ang pag iisip ay hindi maaari? Pati pag iisip ko dapat kontrolado nila.

Where in this world I would fit?

Agad na sumama ang timpla ng aking ina nang tignan ko siya ng doblehin ko ang talim ng tingin niya.

"Who are you to ask me this questions?Wala kang utang na loob!" her anger are more defined in her face. The angelic face of my mother is gone as time passed by, her face is filled with too much stress. 

The dark aura of the room are more intense, how could I fight if I still don't have anything in my name. I don't the power to conquer anyone in this house. I still don't have the ace card.

"I am Selene Rhia, your daughter!"

"Then show me that you are one!"

"What do you mean?" I show some disgust in my face. How could be a mother do this to her own daughter. Controlling me is not enough to stand as their daughter?  So there is a competition? HUH? That in order to win and get the prize of being their daughter I have to prove myself and compete to everyone?

"Don't use that word in me! Pinag aaral kit—"

"Dahil iyon ang dapat. Wala kang karapatan na isumbat sa akin 'yan dahil 'yan ang hindi ko hiningi sayo and don't worry, I already have the inheritance, I already invested, hindi na kita kailangan lalo na ang pera mo."

I saw shocked within her. I smirked out of nowhere. If I have to equal everything then I am more willing to do it. I walked to her wide window and open it, the fresh air coming from the not so far beach in front, this is the view I am loving right from the start. The ocean, the birds and the clear blue sky.
