They'd been arguing for a while.
Jenny had just left your flat due to a work issue, leaving the two of them alone in your kitchen. After ten minutes of typical discussion, they naturally started bickering.
"Can't you agree with me for a change?" Kaylee screamed and raised their arms in the air. You sighed and rolled your eyes.
"You're wrong," Kaylee was set ablaze by your simple statement, your lips twisting up in a small sneer.
You just wished she would stop being so-
Kaylee groaned as she said, "I don't even know why I didn't join Jenny. We don't hang out unless Jenny is around, and this is why -we can't get along. You're so intolerable -how does Jenny keep you around? You're such an asshole!"
"And you're innocent? You find a way to disprove everything I say-I'm just as smart as you are! For the love of God, I'm an attorney!" You screamed.
Kaylee let out a deep, throaty laugh. "Don't act like you did it because you wanted to; it was just because of your father," she remarked.
You just wanted Kaylee to stop-
Your eyes widened and your mouth slightly opened in response to the sentence. "You know that's not true-"
Kaylee's grin widened. "Isn't it, though? You used to say you wanted to be a chef when we were younger-what happened to that? Oh, wait-Dad wanted you to be a lawyer to compensate for your lesbian status, right? Or am I mistaken?"
Your hands were trembling, and a red flush ran up your neck. You said, "Shut up. You have no idea what you're on about-"
You just needed Kaylee to stop-
Kaylee's smile was cruel, and their insides were churning with remorse, but she couldn't stop-something inside of them was pushing them to keep going, to breach the dam that had been growing since they met. She was tired of the constant insults, rage, and arguments. The other feelings-the ones that kept them awake at night and made their stomachs churn every time she glanced at you-were about to come to an end. She only desired peace.
She just wanted to stop feeling like this-
Kaylee would be fine if you never spoke to her again after this.
She attempted to ignore the voice in their head telling them that was utter bullshit.
----
You ran a hand through your hair, trying to block out Kaylee's voice.
Stop talking-
Stop fucking talking-
"...always trying to seem so impressive, but you're just a coward. Investing your entire life in a man who will never accept you for who you are..."
Stop talking-
Stop fucking talking-
"You wouldn't know what I'm talking about, would you? How does it feel to be made to feel like shit by someone who once claimed to love you more than anything-someone you love more than anything?" You were enraged. "Your father-your father loves you. You don't understand-so you..you have no right-"
Kaylee continued to smile, a terrible, vicious grin on their face. "Does that make it false? I don't think it does..."
Stop talking-
Stop fucking talking-
"You're just a coward-"
Lips, then.
It wasn't pretty. It was wet and full of teeth and your hands were trapped between them, fisted into Kaylee's shirt. Their eyes were wide open, indignant and afraid, and they couldn't believe what was going on.
You just needed Kaylee to stop talking-
To stop fucking talking -
You broke the kiss first, pulling back like you'd been burned."Fuck. Fuck-why...what-all I wanted was for you to stop-Kaylee-why didn't you stop-"
Kaylee cocked her head. Again. For the third time. "Do it again."
Your mouth drooped slightly. "What?"
"Do it again," Kaylee said without breaking eye contact.
Your gaze was drawn to Kaylee's lips, which were slightly swollen from the previous kiss. Your rage faded, and you were replaced by a sense of need and desire. It was an unfamiliar sensation that you didn't know how to deal with. Not with Kaylee. "Yeah?" Your voice rises slightly as you inquire.
Kaylee's eyes were red, and she cried a few tears as she blinked. "Y/n, please do it again."
You put your hand to Kaylee's face, wiping away a few tears with your palm before smashing your lips with hers once more.
