"I'll break down your walls one by one and sneak into the gates of your icy heart before crushing it into tiny pieces." He murmurs mercilessly as his lips lightly brush my ear, the contact eliciting an indescribable sensation through every inch of m...

After work, I end up talking to Yara on the phone for hours.
Heartbreak isn't something I'd wish on my worst enemy.
Seeing her in such a depleted and crestfallen state has been heartbreaking to witness.
Despite my many attempts to offer her words of encouragement and support, she kept bringing the conversation back to Eric and said she had no idea how she was supposed to carry on without him.
Our conversation earlier went a little something like this :
"I just don't understand why he'd end things." she wailed as she rested her head on my shoulder.
As we sat on a booth at the bakery, I repelled bystanders who threw us disgruntled looks.
"I'm sorry, Yara," was my best attempt to attenuate the situation. "Rejection is redirection. Even if things didn't work out with Eric, love is still out there. Who knows, you'd end up finding it sooner than you think."
Yara vigorously shook her head before blowing her nose, "But that's just it, there's no one else. I can't picture anyone else but Eric. He treated me so well and made me feel so secure in the relationship. So how could he just. . ."
She paused to weep, her torrent of tears unrelenting.
Despite my best attempts to console her, it was futile.
"I'm not so sure about that," the words escaped me.
Yara broke our embrace to look me in the eyes.
Through her solemn expression, she scrunched her brows, "What do you mean?"
"I don't think Eric was the only one on your mind," I test the waters, "That and I might have overheard your secret conversation with Stalon on the night of my birthday."
Prior to now, I didn't think I was going to bring up the secret conversation I overheard between her and Stalon.
It seemed my plans had changed.
Her eyes widened before she sighed in frustration.
As she ruffled her disheveled curls, she remarked, "You always seem to overhear and witness conversations at the wrong time."
Baffled, I crossed my arms, "That's all you're going to say? Are we not going to address the part where he thought you had feelings for hi—"
"Respectfully, the last person I want to talk about right now is Stalon." Yara snapped, folding her arms in defensiveness, "If anything, he ruined my relationship with Eric, and I never want to see him again."
Respecting her wishes, I remained silent.
It didn't stop me from thinking that her denial was going to cost her big time.
