"The Gifted Foundation could not have been established without our top donors." Sofia forced herself to beam as she gave her speech before hundreds of attendees.
The crowd erupted in applause before the projection screens displayed a crowd member's face.
Moreno Vilinksi's frame appeared on the large projection screens as he applauded among the crowd, a proud smirk intact.
Sofia feigned enthusiasm as she clapped her hands.
How many more speeches do I have to give?
How many more times do I have to tolerate him?
Sofia pondered the thoughts that had traversed her mind for as long as she could remember.
Despite her tumultuous dynamic with Vilinski, she knew better than to betray him.
Like the crocodile who was feared in the animal kingdom, no one dared to double-cross Moreno Vilinski for whoever got in his way gravely risked elimination.
Once the applause subsided, Sofia went on to thank her other donors.
The Better Future Summit was a necessary damage control to protect her and the Gifted Foundation's reputation.

Arising from her seat, she turned around to welcome them with warmth.
"Thanks for coming."
Mrs. Devereaux gave her daughter a warm smile, as there were no words to express what Sofia's sacrifice meant to the family.
"You looked like a superwoman!" Caiden beamed, evoking Sofia's laugh.
"Oh yeah?" she teased her teenage brother before ruffling his blonde locks, "Why is that?"
