"C'mon guys, she seemed genuine and trustworthy." Y/N said quietly as she and her friends were now seated at the Great Hall which was somewhat busier than usual. "Think about it, if she really had bad intentions she would've already snitched on us."

After her conversation with Avery yesterday night outside of the common room, she had already told her entire friend group about the conversation she had. Though, neither of them really seemed convinced and it wasn't any better at the moment.

"What if she's tricking you." Lizzy said suggestively, "Okay she knows about the DA but what if she only heard about it and came to you for confirmation by asking to join, it'll be easier for her to snitch on us when she has evidence."

"Liz's got a point." Aidan hummed as he was cutting his hashbrown apart with a knife and a fork, "y'know what if she just happened to have heard someone talk about the DA but in reality she doesn't know anything about it except that you and Harry leading it."

"Besides, once we give away the location of the room of requirements, she could easily bring it to Umbridge and you know nothing nice is going to happen next." Caleb added.

Y/N sighed deeply with her lips pursed before she turned towards Harry with a somewhat pleading look. Though, he only blinked before turning back to his plate of food, sheepishly shrugging as he kept his head down.

"You know how I feel about Slytherins..." he muttered lowly as he motioned his fork to push his food around the plate.

A groan escaped Y/N's lips as she slumped onto her seat, feeling some sort of defeat.

"Why're you so keen on letting her join?" Caleb asked curiously. "I mean we already have 31 members in the DA, I don't see how—"

"Because she's a Slytherin." Y/N interjected quickly as she leaned in closer, "She'd be able to help manipulate Umbridge or Snape if we need to, you know how they're biased for their own house. So if Avery uses that to our advantage, it might be tremendous help to the DA."

She was returned with a few hums of agreement, though there was still hesitation within the group.

"Okay, What if we come up with a way to sort of... test her?" she suggested, earning a few curious glances. "What if we tell her a fake date and time to meet at the room of requirements, if she'd snitch, she would appear with Umbridge. But if she doesn't—"

"She'll come alone." Hermione continued, earning a nod from the Ravenclaw.

All of them seem to contemplate the idea, until Hermione's eyebrows furrowed again with her head tilted to the side, "But let's say she does appear with Umbridge, wouldn't we all get caught?"

"It's not we, it's just me." the Ravenclaw restated, earning deeply puzzled looks from her friends. "I've dealt with Umbridge way too many times. I'll wait for Avery, we can't risk everyone getting caught."
