Chapter 25

Another DA meeting, where everyone was gathered at the Room of Requirements, nothing unusual. All of them indulged in their own conversations as they waited for everyone to arrive.

However, Y/N and Harry seemed more nervous than usual as the Ravenclaw had her leg bouncing up and down while Harry had his wand and hands behind his back, pacing in front of the Ravenclaw.

They weren't worried about the meeting of course, they've gotten used to it by now. They were worried not everyone would be so on board with the idea of having Avery, a Slytherin join the DA.

Now, Avery had managed to give Y/N, Harry and their friend group an entirely different impression on Slytherin, they no longer think all Slytherins are 'evil' or 'scumbags'. They realised they've just met bad Slytherins that represented the house, not so well you could say.

It was no surprise Malfoy loathed the two of them and everyone associated with them, but it was whatever, Y/N and Harry were already used to it, having to deal with him for five years straight.

Anyways, the Ravenclaw checking the clock on the wall slightly frantic, about 5 minutes before their initial meeting time was when the door opened and a very eerie and awkward silence emerged. Which only gave Y/N and Harry a signal that a certain someone had entered the room.

Quickly, shuffling their feets, they caught the frowned, curious and confused looks spread across the members faces as Avery entered the room. However, she seemed unbothered by the looks as she only gave Y/N and Harry a friendly wave to which they returned.

Low distinct murmurs spread across the crowd as the Ravenclaw let out a deep breath and gestured for Avery to stand by her side as they both turned to face the curious crowd.

"Er—So we've got a new member of the DA here..." she announced, "Everyone this is Avery Taylor, she'd be joining us during meetings from now on."

Some were giving Avery very welcoming smiles while others were giving her skeptical glares. The Ravenclaw exchanged a glance with Harry who then decided to step up and speak too.

"I know what you're all probably thinking that because Avery is a Slytherin you don't trust her and I don't blame you." said Harry. "But not all Slytherins are like Voldemort. Not all Slytherins are Dark Wizards."

The Ravenclaw gave Harry an encouraging nod, giving him the assurance to continue his speech.

"It is important for all of us to stick together, everyone here in the DA, no matter their house. We're all here together having these meetings for three main reasons. to fight Umbridge. To fight the Ministry. To fight Voldemort."

There was a murmur of agreement on this statement.The skeptical looks were now nowhere to be found, even Zacharias Smith looked somewhat accepting of this matter.
