"Now, c'mon (Y/N), it's just a scratch! I'm perfectly fine," Bennett gave you a wide grin and a thumbs up, signalling that he was alright. Although he insists he's alright, his body was littered in tiny scratches. Bruises kissed his slightly sunburnt skin as you looked at him with a 'really?' look.
"Bennett, you're beaten up! You're not perfectly fine," You sighed, a bitterness lacing your voice. As much as you hated being mad at the golden retriever like boy, you couldn't help but feel anxious that he isn't looking out for himself.
You sat Bennett down by a shady tree as you searched for some bandages and rubbing alcohol for his cuts.
The sting from the chemicals in the alcohol made Bennett flinch and hiss from the pain. You apologized for causing him discomfort, but you had to disinfect the wound. Not too long after, you finally finished patching the dear boy up.
"There. Bennett, please be more careful when you're adventuring, you made me worried sick!" You scolded lightly, sighing after.
"I'm sorry, I'll try to be less careless," Bennett gave you a lop-sided grin. Oh, how this dorky adventurer made your heart race. Heat rose to your cheeks, dyeing them a rosy red hue.
An awkward silence fell between you two as you looked everywhere but each other. Bennett finally decided to break the silence. "Y'unno, (Y/N), I may be the unluckiest person in Teyvat at this point, but my luck didn't screw me over when I met you."
The sentence took you by surprise. You never expected Bennett to say something like this. Your face softened as you looked at the boy. His ashy-grey locks were dancing with the breeze as he looked at you with a twitterpated look.
"Bennett..." you started, but alas, you were at a loss for words. Words were never your strong suit, so to make up for it, you hugged Bennett close. You buried your face in the crook of his neck, slightly embarrassed to look at him.
A chuckle escaped his lips as he ran his hand up and down your back as a sign of comfort. The silence was now comforting between you two as the breeze blew softly.
