The blossoms waltzed in the spring's air outside of the classroom's window as you tapped on the desktop. Your geometry teacher's monotonous voice went in one of your ears and out the other. The clock's loud ticks filled the room, making every passing second agonizing. Just a little while longer until school was finally out for the weekend.

"Now, as long as you follow the pythagorean theorem, you'll know that a-squared plus b-squared will always equal c-squared. Your weekend's homework will be pages 170 through 175 in your textbooks," Your teacher set down the stick of chalk he was writing with, and as if on cue, the school's bell chimed 3:15 p.m.

The students grabbed their belongings and quickly filed out of the classroom as soon as they could. You slipped your textbook into your bookbag and walked out the door, looking around for your friends to walk home with. You walked to the school's front entrance and looked around through the crowd, finally spotting Ayaka with Yoimiya.

"Hey! Glad to see you're joining us," Yoimiya gave you a wide grin upon your arrival, to which you returned it with your own.

"Heya Yoimiya, Ayaka," you gave a nod to Ayaka and she waved back to you. "Is Tohma joining us today?"

The school's door burst open to reveal a disheveled Tohma, trying to catch his breath. "Speak of the devel," you muttered, receiving a small chuckle from Yoimiya.

"Sorry I'm late! I had to stay back and finish some classwork. Mister Zhongli is unforgiving when it comes to his class," Tohma scratched the back of his head sheepishly, looking off to the side.

"It's alright. Shall we get going?" Ayaka asked, receiving a nod of approval from her friends. "Alright then, we'll be off then." She started to walk out of the school's front courtyard and onto the street pavement.

Tohma ended up tapping Ayaka's shoulder and started to talk to her from a distance from you and Yoimiya. Yoimiya and you conversed with one another while the other two talked with each other about an unknown topic. Soon enough, Ayaka put her hand on Yoimiya's shoulder and whispered something to her.

"Oh! (Y/N), I completely forgot, Ayaka and I were going to go on a study date together this afternoon! Is it okay if we go?" Yoimiya looked at you with a pleading face, hoping that you'd say yes.

You cocked a brow at this, but shrugged the lie off. "Sure, go ahead, have fun on your date," you smiled at the two, emphasising on the 'date' part to tease them. You watched as Ayaka's pale complexion turned red. The two girls turned around and walked back, leaving you and Tohma.

The two of you continued to walk to your designated destinations, your conversations mainly being small talk. You two shared some laughs and information about your day, and soon the ten minute walk came to an end. You reached your house's location.

"Well, I should be off," you pointed at your home's entrance.

"Ah, okay," Tohma flashed you a smile, but then he quickly added. "Wait! Before you go, I need to ask you something."

You looked at him with a questioning look. "Sure, ask away."
"Ah, well, um..." Tohma paused and took a small breath, before remembering his conversation with Ayaka.

"Ayaka, I don't know what to do, I really want to ask (Y/N) out but I feel like they'll reject me!" Tohma looked at his close friend with a sad expression, before looking up ahead at you. You were laughing at a joke Yoimiya said.

Ayaka closed her eyes and smiled. "I'm sure they won't reject you. Besides, if they do, you can say you tried and it wasn't meant to be. Go for it, Tohma."

Go for it, Tohma.

Those words rang in his ears. He exhaled, gaining his composure. "I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me tomorrow, to a small café downtown," he asked, a dusty red blush spread across his face.

It took you a moment to process what Tohma just asked, to which you smiled. "Of course, that sounds lovely, Tohma."

"Really? Great! I'll make sure to pick you up tomorrow! Is 11 okay?" Tohma's face lit up, a smile gracing his features.

You giggled at his actions and responded, "Sounds perfect."

"Nice. I'll see you then," He cupped one of your cheeks and kissed the other, making your face heat up. "Have a good rest of your day, (Y/N)."

He waved goodbye and walked off. From a distance, you could hear Tohma's voice say, "Ayaka, you won't believe what happened!"

You smiled, a chuckle escaping your throat while the petals from blooming trees swayed in the wind.
