Noah and I, were rescued by one of the ship's crew members. Fortunately for us, he happened to see us from his watch tower a few feet away from where we were struggling to stay afloat. I guess we didn't really think about what was going to happen after we jumped. We just went for it. We're crazy. Crazy in love. We told the crew that I accidentally fell into the water, and Noah jumped in to try to save me. I'm not sure if they bought the lie, but they let us walk away after that so who cares?
"Crazy kids." I hear one of the crew members mumble as Noah, and I leave the scene.

The time is now around eight am. Twelve hours after the Annual Cruise Prom. In other words, we ran for a total of eight hours. That's a school day. That's a work shift. On ZERO sleep. Noah, and I are practically dragging our limbs across the boat's surface as we air dry.

We've decided to finally go back to our separate rooms, and face the parents. Whatever happens, happens. We are only certain of one thing. We are together, and they can't stop us even after this cruise, whether they cut the trip short or not.

Noah gives me one final long, soft, needy kiss before we go our separate ways. We look at each other with uncertain eyes as we back away from one another.

I approach my room door, staring at the bright blue paint as I brace myself for the battle zone. I look completely wild. Towel over my shoulders from the boat crew, hair damp, and stringy, and makeup smeared. I take a long breath, and exhale before opening the door. My parents are standing facing the door, as if they were expecting me. I quietly shut the door behind me, and slowly make my way over to sit on my bed. I feel their eyes burning into me. I'm truly scared.

"Pack your bags, we're leavin' tonight." My dad speaks up, tone stern, and icy. I don't even look up.
"I owe y'all a huge apology." I mutter out. My mom sighs.
"Start talkin'." she snaps.

Over in Noah's room, he reluctantly enters the room as his parents are pacing, anger laced in their voices. Their heads automatically snap in his direction. His mom stomps over to him with her arm drawn behind her. She swings her arm, and her open hand comes into contact with Noah's cheek.
"Who the hell do you think you are!?" She screeches, as Noah places a hand over his stinging face.
"I've never been more disappointed in you than I am right now. How could you betray our trust again?" His dad speaks up, face a tint of red. Noah finally looks up from the tile floor to look at his parents. He's never seen them so upset.
He goes to take a seat on his bed.
"I don't know who you've turned into. You're not the same Noah I know. You let that... that black whore tarnish you. You-" Noah cuts his mom short
"Don't speak about her like that. You have no idea who she is. You don't know how amazing she makes me feel. She's the most special person I've ever met. She makes me actually feel loved in this world, unlike my parents!" Noah shouts, standing. His dad points a finger in his direction.
"You better lower your voice son. Watch yourself. " he spits out. Noah eyes him, before taking a seat again.
"That woman... I've never experienced the emotions she makes me feel. She's not like any girl I've ever dated. She's...different. She's genuine. She has my back. I trust her. I love her." Noah mutters out, eyes rimming with tears. His mom scoffs. "You don't even know her. You just met the girl a few days ago. I'm sure she's just like the rest of her kind." His mom says. Noah's head snaps in her direction.
"What kind mom? We are all HUMAN. We are all the same. She is different from you, though. Not just her skin color, but her heart. You could never be half the woman she is. You're hateful. You really wanna prevent your only child from feeling happiness.... happiness that I've never felt before just because the girl I love is black?" Noah cries out, tears finally spilling from his eyes. His mom rolls her eyes. She thinks he looks pathetic. His dad sighs, feeling a bit guilty for the waterfall flowing from his son's face. He still doesn't want his son with a woman who isn't white though.
"Tell us everything. From the beginning." His dad says, tone more calm this time. His wife gives him a side eye as he takes a seat on their bed.
