Date of Dream ~ March 11, 2022
Word Count ~ 1030We were supposed to protect one another, not betray. My friend really turned his back on me. During these times of all. After everything we've been through. We've been surviving this apocalypse as a unit for months. Our friends and family are long gone. We are all we have.
My friend Malik betrayed me. He told me about this empty mansion he'd discovered. He explained that there was endless supplies there. Medicine, food, weapons. He said we could stay there a while to hideout before going back out on the roads. I trusted him as he'd never turned his back on me before.
I feel relieved as we're finally standing in front of this mansion. It's still a few feet away, so I take the time to admire it. It's huge. Its white paint has little to no damage to it. It's surrounded by nothing but green scenery, as the next house is miles away. This is the type of land I wanted in case of a zombie apocalypse.
"Ready?" I ask excitedly, waiting for Malik to follow after me. He stands there. His eyes are full of guilt. I furrow my brows. "Malik-" he cuts me off. "I care about you. You know that right? I hope you know that." He nearly whispers , his eyes avoiding mine. I turn back around, completely facing him. "What?" I question, confused. His eyes focused in on something behind me. I quickly turn in the direction. My heart sinks.
A group of about one hundred zombies are stumbling their way over to us through the blowing, tall grass. I turn to run away. I grab Malik's arm to pull him. He shakes his head.
"No." He says. My heart is slamming in my chest. "What are you doing? They're going to kill us! " I screech.
Malik doesn't move a muscle. When I attempt to run away again, he pulls me against his chiseled chest. He won't let me go. I'm so baffled.
"What the hell are you doing Malik?!" I yell, as he turns me to face the crowd of zombies again. They've finally reached us. My eyes are bulging.
The zombies are just stand there groaning, and twitching. They smell like rotted meat. Their skin is a pale green tone. Some of them have blood spilling from their eyes, and mouths. This is breathtaking in the worst way.
Suddenly, the zombies separate, allowing a zombie even larger than themselves to pass through the group. This zombie is twice their size. He walks closer to me. He's now only inches away. I don't think my heart is beating anymore. He suddenly points at me, and I flinch. He makes eye contact with Malik, as his head cocks to the side.
"Yeah, this is her." Malik speaks. I swiftly turn to look up at him. What? What's going on? Malik suddenly pushes me forward with great force. The zombie leader grabs ahold of me. All I can do is freeze. I've suddenly forgotten how to defend myself. I'm flabbergasted. Why is Malik handing me over to the enemy? "We had a deal. I bring you the lady, you give me supplies." Malik speaks, finally making eye contact with me. My jaw drops. I can't believe him.
Some of the other zombies walk over to Malik with bags of supplies for him. Malik has traded me for supplies. I'm disgusted. I shake my head in disbelief as tears pool my eyes.
Malik gives me one finally glance. "I'm sorry. This is for the best." He says. I can't even speak right now. I'm in such a shock. I just watch as Malik turns around and heads back out on his journey. Without me.
The zombies take me inside the abandoned home with them. I'm prepared for an attack at any moment. I can possibly escape. I mean, I've survived months through this Hell. I'm being very cautious of every move they make.
How is it possible that these corpses are able to communicate with us? Why aren't they attacking me? I should be dead by now. They're not like the other zombies out here. This is such a contrast.
The zombie leader grabs my arm once again as he seems to be giving me a tour of this place. It smells rancid. He guides me up the stairs to a bedroom with no windows. Is this supposed to be my room? I'm not staying here. I will find a way to escape. I'm far more intelligent than they are....right?
The zombie pushes me into the room, and locks me in there alone. I observe my surroundings. There's nothing in this room besides a filthy pillow, and blanket on the wooden floor. I've gotta find a way out.
All I'm thinking of is how Malik has thrown me away like a piece of meat, and what these zombies might need me here for. None of this makes sense.
I'll find a way out, no matter how long it takes. I'm going to find Malik again. I'm after vengeance.
Author's Note
Hey y'all! Alright so for this one, I was mind blown when I woke up from this dream. At the same time, I was excited. I LOVE zombies. It had been a while since I had a dream about zombies. I remember telling my roommate about the dream, and she looked at me like I was growing another head. I think we had been consuming too much zombie content. 💀💀 You can never go wrong with zombie content.
It's baffling to me how the zombies didn't kill me. I woke up immediately after determining that I was going to find a way to escape. So that's where the dream ended. I have no answers for any of it. 😤 I can't begin to figure out why they needed me there, why they were intelligent, how Malik discovered he could communicate with them. Etc etc
If you're interested in me continuing this dream into a mini book, let me know. I can always imagine up a storyline, and a proper ending.
Sorry if this chapter felt rushed! Hope y'all enjoyed . ⚡️🖤
