Why Do I Need Glasses?

So the other day I had to get my vision tested by the school nurse and discovered that my farsighted vision is 20/40. I never expected to be blind since with both of my eyes, I can see perfectly.

But then they tell me I need to get glasses.

THAT is exactly what I don't understand. I told her I can see perfectly with both eyes. My near sight is 20/20, so I don't think I need to become dependent on glasses.

But the nurse is like, "Your left eye is doing all the work for your right eye and the glasses will help to even that out." BUT I DONT NEED THEM!!! The only case in which I really can't see is if I cover my good eye and try to see from afar, but exactly when am I gonna be doing that???

Then my ma is like: "You know what it is? You're always on your little games." WOMAN YOU LEAVE MY GAMES ALONE!!! And that's not all. Then she goes and tells all her sisters that my eye is bad and it's because of my video games, and they all look at me like "Friggin antisocial freak." Honestly ma, that doesn't help.

So yeah and I spent this weekend arguing with my family members that I don't need glasses and I can see fine, and apparently EVERYONE disagrees with me. You know what? None of you are eye doctors. I'm still waiting to get an appointment with a guy with an actual diploma and see how that goes -3-
