So today, Pokemon GO finally came out where I live, and people have been CRAZY going everywhere trying to catch Pokemon.

We started off today waking up at 4 am to go to a doctors appointment. On the way there, for some reason the radio was announcing that the game was finally working here, at 5 am. But hey, it was there for us and we all went and redownloaded it immediately, including my parents.

Long story short, by the time we got to the hospital my parents were absolutely hooked. By the time it was my turn to go in, my dad already knew just about all the tricks and tips there was to know about the game.

While we were waiting for my turn, I discovered a Scyther in the hallway and we all left the waiting room to catch it. My mom ran out of pokeballs trying to catch it, which was where the majority of her obsession for this game was born. When we went to the mall afterwards, literally all my mom could think about was finding a pokestop to get more pokeballs. She spammed every pokestop in the mall until we left.

So much much later on we checked into a hotel with no service, but we were still able to see that there were two pokestops right outside our reach, one of which was filled with that incense that everyone has access to. It was late at night when mom, my sis and I just said, "Screw it! Let's go catch Pokemon."

We went out in half of our pj's and shorts and were just making it to the pokestop when a guy in a passing car opened his window and whistled at us. That's when we just realized what we were even doing: we were out at night, in a particularly dangerous city, in front of a casino, wearing shorts, looking for Pokemon.

We turned right around and started heading back into the hotel when mom found another pokestop. Like I said, the service was very bad, so there were no Pokemon around to catch. But mom was so desperate to get as many pokeballs as she possibly could that she made us sit out there in the rain while she spammed that one pokestop, which refreshed about every five minutes.

It took a while to convince her to come back inside. And a lot of reverse psychology.

I think it's safe to say my parents got more into this game than my sisters and I did. And they had NEVER cared about Pokemon before, I'm not kidding.

This is the start of something truly beautiful.
