So yesterday, my sister and I were dumped at the mall to go Christmas shopping.
And to be honest, it's the first time we've been left on our own to buy presents for other people. We usually have at least mom or dad to come with us and give us advice and/or clothing sizes.
So my sis and I were on our own this time, and it was a little messy.
Our first mistake:
Go buy a $3 bag of popcorn with our $20 budget, just because no one could tell us no.Our second mistake:
Go to JCPenny. My sis had the idea of buying mom a perfume, and I thought "hey, that can't be too expensive."
So we go to the store and start looking through the perfumes that we could try on ourselves, and I tell my sister, "okay hold out your hand. You're the test subject."
She holds out her hand and I spray her with the first perfume I grab. She takes a quick sniff and immediately says "this is men's cologne."
We burst into a fit of laughter because we realized right there that we were no where near ready to adult, and that we shouldn't have been left alone.
So then we left that area and found the woman's perfume, and we found one that smelled pretty good. I asked the lady at the counter if we could buy it and she said, "sure, that bottle is $120."
She said that to a pair of broke teenagers with a straight face.
My sis and I made a run for it while she was looking for the perfume.
So that's when we decided that perfume was out. We began to walk around the rest of the store to see if we could find any nice clothes for mom instead. The store looked like it still hadn't cleaned up after Black Friday, and we seemed to have forgotten that JCPenny is not broke-child friendly. He cheapest shirt we could find was around $30 and neither of us could afford that.
We made a note never to buy gifts from that store again. So we started looking through all the Kress knockoffs at the mall, where the clothes were reasonably priced by actual humans, while my sister complained that the cologne was starting to smell really bad (which is was, and I felt pretty bad).
But by then it was pretty late and all we managed to buy was a shirt from each of us for mom.
But that's progress, right? Either way I always like being able to hang out with my sister. It's always an adventure of sorts XD
On another note, I'm really bitter towards her now because she hogged the ds all weekend and passed me by a lot in Pokémon Sun.
Joke's on you Icecream_Puppy
I'm taking the ds to college this week.
And I have four hour breaks >:3
