James, Jennifer, and I walk over to the kitchen to decide what to make for dinner. While I was looking through the pantry, I found some tortillas.
Bella – Guys I found tortillas!
Jen – Can we please have a taco night?
James – Yes! I miss tacos so much!
Bella – Do we have what we need to make tacos?
James – Well yeah, just need to make em.
Bella – We having a taco night then!
We cook everything we need but we don't make the tacos. We put everything on top of the table and let everyone make their taco. It was super fun but also super messy. I'm glad we're getting along. Geez, I never thought I'd say this. When we finish dinner, they all go to the sitting room, except for me and Thomas.
Bella – How are you?
Thomas – I don't know. I can't move my legs and my left arm.
Bella – Thomas I don't know what to say.
Thomas – It's okay. I didn't expect you to say anything deep.
Jen – Hey Bella, can we talk?
Bella – Do you mind?
Thomas – Go ahead.
I got up and followed Jennifer who led me upstairs, into the library to be exact. She seats by a table and I do the same. She looks at me for a while before finally starting to speak.
Jen – Ask away, I know you want to.
I indeed had a question burning in the tip of my tongue, ready to be asked. At first, I hesitated, but then it was burning too badly on my tongue that I couldn't contain it anymore.
Bella – Why did you hate me so much?
Jennifer scoffed before answering.
Jen – Do you remember 8th grade?
Bella – 8th grade? What the hell did I do to you in 8th grade?
Jen – Let me finish! So 8th grade, you and Baylee Lynch were all bestie bestie before she moved away? You and your perfect grades. You and your perfect life.
Bella – You were jealous of me...
Jen – Yeah! I promised myself that I'd beat you in everything I could, grades, popularity. I needed to have it better than you.
Bella – Why? We are getting along now, we could have been friends.
Jen – I thought it was normal until last year. My mom would do with me what I normally did to you. Insult your clothes, you, your grades, your friends.
Bella – I'm sorry to hear that. I spent all these years thinking that you were just an annoying spoiled little brat. I'm sorry, you are nothing like that.
Jen – Don't apologize! I fucked up. I'm the one who needs to apologize. Bella, I'm so sorry for what I've done.
Bella – It's okay. It doesn't matter now. Friends?
Jen – Friends is great. Oh, you can call me Jen whenever you want.
Bella – Same to you.
Jen – Wait, now that we're friends can I ask you something?
Bella – Sure, what?
Jen – You like Thomas, don't you?
Bella – Um I haven't thought about it. You know this is quite a stressful situation.
Jen – Yeah, I get it.
Bella – But I do think that I do like him, but once again, I'm not sure.
Jen – That's fine. Let's go join them?
Bella – Yeah, let's go.
We go downstairs to find everyone that hasn't been attacked by the Host sitting in the sitting room. We sat on the sofa next to each other want made everybody stop talking. They were talking about who made the wort mess at dinner tonight, nothing too serious.
Nick – Wait, so you're actually getting along?
Bella – Yeah, we're friends now.
James – WHAT?
Aria – For real?
Jen – Yeah, we are friends now.
Vic- Go tell that to Thomas and Alex!
We did, we figured it'd be fun. They looked at us like we were insane! I'm not even kidding. I wish I could describe accurately their faces, but I just can't. Then they looked at each other and back at us. As none of them could get up we were just trying not to laugh at their confused faces.
Alex – I mean, I'm not mad but I wasn't expecting this!
Thomas – I know! If I knew this would work, I'd have locked them somewhere as well!
Alex – Right!
A few laughs and giggles later, it was time for us to go to sleep. Thomas will be sleeping in the lab as Alex has. We looked for another of those weird tables and laid Thomas there. I and everybody else is supposed to go upstairs to the rooms. It's weird not having him in the room with me now. It's the third night we spend here. And I'm spending it alone, cause Thomas drank poison to protect me. Me! The girl who has a crush on him that he doesn't know about and with who he barely ever talked before we got stuck here. Don't overthink it, Bella. If you have another panic attack, you won't be able to calm down.
It has been a while since everyone has been asleep. I keep on rolling on the bed not able to fall asleep. I think that I was missing Thomas being right there. I was thinking of a way to fall asleep when I remembered something, so, I got up and sneakily went to the lab. I tried to wake Thomas up without touching him and not making much noise so we wouldn't wake Alex up. That didn't work. I had to shake him a little bit. He groaned a bit when I finally woke him up.
Bella – Hey, can I steal one of his t-shirts from the closet? *I silently whispered in his ear*
Thomas – Yeah, of course. Next time just take it, you don't need to ask Bella. *he whispered back*
Bella – Thank you honey bun. Goodnight. *I say beginning to sneak my way out of the lab*
Thomas – Wait.
Bella – What?
Thomas – Come here.
I go back to where I was whispering in his ear. When he notices that I'm back at the same spot he kisses my forehead.
Thomas – Have a good sleep sunshine.
I can't help but blush. I really want to kiss him right now, but I don't want our first kiss to be like this. Sneak my way out of the lab, up the stairs, and into the closet. I pick one t-shirt and when I was about to sneak back into my room, I notice a bottle of cologne on the bottom of his part of the closet. I open it. It is definitely the cologne he wears! I cannot contain myself and spray a bit on his shirt that I am now wearing. Hopefully, I can sleep now.
