The last person standing

Planning, but shh

We entered the room and I started to take the cap out of one of the pens.

James – Hey guys.

Alex – Hey, good morning.

Bella – Morning Alex, it's good to see you awake.

Alex – It's good to be awake.

Before He could say anything else, I notice that James is telling Alex about our little plan. Don't let the host know anything important. I signal to James to tell the same to Vic and Nick. He did that as I started to write some questions on the window.

"Does anyone know how to pick a lock with a bobby pin?

Does anyone have an idea how we can leave now that we know so much more?

Does anyone have anything to say?"

I looked at them, all reading the questions except Thomas. Aria walked up to him and whispered the questions to him. He nodded meaning that he did not have an answer for us. Meanwhile, Vic and Nick are talking about the antidote and stuff. It would be believable for us just to hear them, right? Yeah, I think so. Victoria looked at the window and signaled that she knew how to pick a lock. That is such a relief! I signaled for them to talk about something as I handed her the bobby pins to Victoria. I whispered in her ear that she'd be opening the door after we have lunch, and for now, she could focus on finding the antidote. She nodded in agreement. I started to write my escape idea in the window as some of them read, and some of them talked about something else, and then they'd switch places. When I finished writing, I started talking to whoever had already read what I wrote.

Bella – What time is it?

Aria – I don't know. Maybe 11 and something.

Bella – Maybe we should start to think about what we want for lunch. 

James – You said that you found parmesan yesterday, right?

Bella – Yeah.

James – We could make some chicken parmesan. 

Jen – That sounds good.

 Alex – Yes! Go go go. 

Nick – We all agree, you can go make it.

Bella – Alright. Let's go then. 

Before I left, I asked Nick to whisper the plan on Thomas' ear. I wish I could do it myself, but getting out of here is more important. Jennifer, James, and I went to the kitchen. We washed our hands and started to cook. James was seasoning the chicken; Jennifer was breading it, and I was waiting for the water to boil when Nick stormed into the kitchen.

Nick – We think we found it! 

We stopped everything we were doing. I couldn't believe my ears! Thomas is going to be okay!

 Nick – Well, if we're wrong, he could die anyway. 

Jen – What percentage does he have of making it?

Nick – According to Victoria, 50%.

 Bella – Stecore. «translation: shit»

Nick – He has the choice of taking it or not. Maybe we could hear his decision together back in the lab. 

Bella – Yeah, let me just turn off the stove.

As James and Jennifer are washing their hands once again, me and Nick head to the lab. When we get in Thomas was laying there, with his eyes closed. I knew he hadn't taken it yet but it still broke my heart seeing him like this. I stopped next to Alex with tears in my eyes. He placed his hand on mine.

 Alex – He's going to be alright.

Bella – I know. But it breaks my heart to see him like that. Stecore!

Thomas – That's a bad word, Bella.

Bella – I know, that's why I said it. 

Thomas – You shouldn't pulchra. «beautiful»

Bella – I can't help it though. 

James – We're here!

 Vic – So Thomas, are you going to take it?

Thomas – Yes, I trust you guys. Alex, If I don't make it take Bella to meet Leah.

Alex – I will. 

Thomas – I wish you guys the best. I'm glad I was stuck here with you guys. Thank you.

 Victoria hands the little jar where the antidote was to Thomas. James was next to me with his arm around my shoulders, and Alex still had his hand on mine. I was doing my best not to cry. This is such a scary moment. I mean, none of us knows what will happen. 

Vic – Maybe you guys should go back to the kitchen. We don't know how he'll react, or how long it's going to take. 

James – Yeah, let's go.

 I went out of the lab with them but I ran upstairs into my room. I grabbed the Latin-English dictionary to give one last message to Thomas. It took me a little bit to memorize it but I did and then I quickly ran back to the lab.

Bella - Thomam Ego vere similis tui. Ego volo tibi dicere sentio eram certus satis est, quod te amo, sed ego adhuc non novi. Nolo enim vos modo relinquit nobis, nescientibus. « Thomas, I really like you. I want to say I feel quite sure is that I love you, but I do not know yet. I do not want you to just possibly leave us knowing it. »

Thomas - Suus 'okay sunshine. Me quoque. «It's okay sunshine. Me too. »

With that, I left the lab and started to cry in the sitting room. I recomposed myself and went back to the kitchen. I got in and James and Jennifer were finishing up.

Jen – You okay?

Bella – Yeah, I think so.

James – Come here. 

I did, and he hugged me. His hugs are always comforting. We grew up kind of sharing our feelings as well as comforting each other. That was one things that made us realize we were a bit different from Aria and Nick.

"We are all ready to follow the plan after lunch, we just need your signal. " James whispered in my ear. 

I looked at him and smiled before I let go of James. Then I set the table as they finished up the food.
