Victoria – I don't feel like going in right now.
James – Same. The Host could have given us a little break.
Host – What the hell are you on about? I did!
James – Sorry!
Bella – I'll go in, you guys get some rest.
Thomas – There's no way you're going in there alone. God knows what's behind that door! I'm going with you.
Bella – Thomas you don't have to.
Thomas – I know, but I want to. James, Nick and Vic, get some rest. This is a difficult situation, we'll be back soon, okay?
Victoria – Okay.
Thomas grabbed James and Nick and took them to a corner of the room and told them something that I couldn't quite hear.
Nick – We will.
James – Don't worry.
Thomas – Good, Bella let's go! *he said walking towards the exit of the room we were in*
I quickly followed him through the door and up the stairs. We didn't say a single word while we walked. When we finally stopped in front of one of the only locked doors upstairs, I grabbed his shoulder trying to encourage him to open the door. He had his hand on the doorknob but he didn't try to open it. I get it. He's like this because of what happened to Alex. I'm also scared for Alex and all of us.
Bella - You don't have to open it right now. You know that, right?
Thomas – Yeah, I know. I just afraid that what happened to Alex happens again.
Bella – Okay, wait, I have an idea. *I said running off*
Thomas – Where are you going?
I didn't respond and went straight to the room I share with him. I opened the closet and took two pillows and a small mirror I found by accident under the pillows. I walked out of the room to find Thomas looking at me looking confused. I giggled a bit and proceeded to walk towards him and explain my plan.
Thomas – Okay, let's do this.
With that, both of us leaned against the wall. One on each side of the door.Thomas put his hand on the doorknob and counted to three. When he got to three, he tried to open the door but it was locked. We had a 50 per cent chance of choosing the one The Host had unlocked but we didn't which just increased my anxiety levels. We walked around that balcony-like corridor to the only other closed door upstairs and did the exact same, but this time, the door opened. I quickly threw the pillows inside the room to see if anything would happen to them. We picked inside only to find the pillows were safe and sound on the floor. I was so focused on the pillows that I didn't pay any attention to what the room actually looked like. I grabbed the mirror and put my hand inside the room. That way I could examine the inside part of the doorframe to try to find anything that could hurt me or Thomas if we walked into the room. Once I found nothing, we decided to walk in. my eyes curiously wandered around the room. The only thing they could see were wooden closet-like doors and cabinets. Every single one looked the same.
Thomas – What the...
Bella – What?
Thomas – Why does this have our names on them?
Bella – Wait what?
Thomas – Well, on top of the doors there a name for every one of us. You see, those four doors and the two big ass cabinets behind them have your name on there.
Bella – Yeah, they do. I didn't notice it. Should we open them?
Thomas – Yeah, I think so.
