The last person standing

Go time

We were finishing up dinner well Alex, Thomas, and Nick were in the lab as we were in the kitchen. We had been chatting like we normally do. Not talking about the plan or anything that the Host might suspect. 

Bella – Is everyone done already?

James – I think we are.

Bella – Okay, so I'll wash the dishes after you guys put them on the sink. 

Aria – Okay. *She said standing up with her plate and the silverware on hand*

Everyone followed her doing the same. I went to the lab to ask how they are and to take their plates if they're ready. They were ready, happily. 

Bella – Thomas, how are you?

Thomas – Closer to see your face again. 

Bella – You're gaining your vision back?

Thomas – Yes. 

Bella – Oh my God! 

That's such good news! I'm so happy!

Thomas – Me too. 

We were both smiling for a while before I came back to what I was supposed to do. Wash the dishes. 

Bella – I'll go wash the dishes. 

Thomas – Yeah, maybe in a few hours we could go back to the library.

Bella – Hopefully so. *I said grabbing every plate and silverware and walking into the kitchen*

I put those in the sink. Afterward, I started to look for something, a sponge some gloves, anything to wash the dishes with. I found dish soap and a sponge, but maybe I should look for a pair of gloves. If I was wearing gloves, I wouldn't waste time drying them. I went upstairs and into the bathroom to look for some gloves. I found a box of them under the sink. I grabbed a pair and started to walk down the stairs. Suddenly, I heard them fall. 

Bella – Are you okay? *I asked worriedly* 

No one answered. Crap! I hurried down the stairs to find what made the noise. I wanted to stop by the kitchen but, I couldn't. I needed to make sure everything was okay. I hurried to the lab to see how was everyone. They were laying on the floor, at first, I thought they were dead because they didn't reply to anything I said, they also didn't move. Only when I took a closer look, they were moving their eyes and they were breathing. On the lab floor, there were Nick and James. I decided to look for the girls. I walked out of the lab and into the storage room. A few steps after getting through the door I found Aria, just like Nick and James. Then I walked towards the black mystery door. Jen and Vic were laying there. I'm presented with the same scenario I've seen before, I'm confused. At the sight of the open door, I walked through it to try to kill my curiosity. I did, I saw the little hallway there was in the picture, then I went down the stairs to find what I think was the Host's hiding spot. There were three computer screens and a bunch of stuff that I believe 100% were used to contact us and to prevent us from contacting the outside world. I climber up the stairs as quickly as I could. If the host used to be there and now, he isn't where is the Host? I looked and looked on the main floor but the Host was nowhere to be found. Then when I was about the put my hand on the first step of the stairs, when I heard a voice.

Voice – Bet you still don't recognize me even without the voice modifier. 

The Host had a gun pointed at me. Just when I thought nothing in this house could catch me off guard anymore, something did.

Bella – Well, you know, maybe it's easier to recognize you if you took off that mask. 

Host – Maybe I will, but not now. Back.

Bella – Fine fine. *I said putting my hands up and walking back*

Host – Turn your back to the kitchen and keep on walking back.

I did as I was told. I had no intent on being shot and dying here.

Bella – Can I ask you a question?

Host – You already did.

Bella – Can I ask you two more questions?

Host – You already did.B

ella – Haha, good try. Looks like I have one question left. Why did you keep us here?

Host – Maybe, when I take off my mask, you'll also figure it out.

Bella – I have another one.

Host – Fine, go on. *they allowed annoyed*

Bella – What happened to my friends?

Host – Well, when Victoria opened the door, it released a gas that paralyzed them from the nose down. It'll pass, it's temporary. They'll start to talk any minute now. 

James – BELLA, BE CAREFUL. *he yelled from the lab*

Bella – I KNOW, I know.

 There was a pause there. Why am I still standing? If the intention is to kill us all, or some of us, why couldn't I be the first? 

Bella – You know, this is getting boring. Why don't you do anything? Or say anything? This is kind of ridiculous. 

Host – Do you want me to shoot you? *they asked confused*

Bella – That'd be more exciting. 

Host – What is wrong with you people?

Bella – Who are you to talk? We've been here for three days because of you! Wait three days? Two days and one extra night? Yeah, something around those lines because YOU kept us here!

Host – The ones in the lab should be able to walk by now. 

Bella - Oh so you're ignoring my awnser? Okay. *I stated kind of annoyed*

I looked to my side, James appearing and quickly standing in front of me.

Bella – Don't worry, he's not going to shoot me.

Host – Says who?

Bella – You had such a big chance to do it! We've been standing here for like ten minutes!

Host – You know, this is going to be such a cute reunion!

James – What do you mean? 

The host takes off the mask, dropping it to the floor. The face looked so familiar!

Host – You can change my pronouns to he/him now that you know my true identity.

James – Eric...?

Bella – Dad?
