"Come on, Alex!" I rushed out of the house as I worked on getting my belt buckled.
"Don't forget your bag." I thanked Jacob as I took the old leather messenger bag from him.
We jumped into the old orange 1963 Chevy StepSide C-10 pickup and began our drive to the Swan's. Jacob and I worked on fixing it in our free time between school so Isabella would have something functional to drive. I fell asleep in the well I sat in the bed of the truck. It wasn't the safest place to fall asleep let alone sit well driving but I was tired and there wasn't room. I groaned as the truck came to a stop and my head slammed against the window behind my head.
I jumped out of the back and wiped the butt of my jeans down before handing Jacob Billy's Wheelchair. After Jacob and I helped unload Billy I leaned over into the truck and grabbed my bag from inside.
"Hear you guys coming all the way down the road."
"We would've been quieter if Alex didn't snore so loud." I slapped Jacob in the back of the head as he chuckled.
"Shut it girly."
"Good to see you." I shook Charlie's hand before standing just behind Jacob as Charlie's daughter, Isabella, walked out.
"Bella, you remember Billy Black?"
"Yeah. Wow, you're looking good." She definitely looked awkward, not the type to be good in social situations.
"Well, I'm still dancing. I'm glad you're finally here. Charlie here hadn't shut up about it since you told him you were coming." Jacob and I laughed as the two grown men started to act like children well they fought in the middle of the road.
"All right, keep exaggerating. I'll roll you in the mud."
"After I ran you in the ankles." Billy chased Charlie around as Charlie jumped around avoiding the wheelchair.
"Im Jacob, we used to make mud pies when we were little."
"Awe, weren't you so cute?" I smiled as I tugged at Jacobs cheek before he slapped my hand away.
"I'm Alexandra by the way, please feel free to call me Alex, or Xander, whatever one you prefer." I pushed my short curls back out of my face before they fell back against my forehead once again.
"So, what do you think Bella?" Charlie slapped the side of the truck as Bella stared at him.
"About what?"
"Your homecoming gift, just bought it off Billy here." Bella's face light up as she rushed to open the door.
"I rebuilt the whole engine." I slapped Jacob over the head before I jumped into the bed of the truck and opened the small window in the back.
"We. We just rebuilt the whole engine." When Bella opened the door she hit Jacob with her door before apologizing quickly.
"Don't apologize, I do it all the time by own my free will." Bella chuckled nervously as she tucked her hair behind her ear as Jacob began explaining how to properly start the truck.
"Do you want a ride to school?" Bella sounded like she was choking on her words as she hit the steering wheel causing me to cringe knowing how hard that wheel was to put in.
"I actually go to school on the reserve."
"Well, I don't so I'll take the free ride." I smiled as I jumped out of the back and opening the passenger door to pull Jacob out and take his place.
"Hey, Billy, I'm heading out with Bella to school. Love yeh." I waved out the window before settling back against the newly furnished seats and off we went.
