May, 2005 (Prom night)

Alice and Rosalie stared at me as I worked on getting my heels on.

"Are you sure you don't want your hair done?"

"Alice, I'm sure. I like its curled mess, plus I think you've done enough with the make up." It was just a cat-eye liner and a smoky eye, as the girls called it, but it felt like too much on my face.

"Alright, let's get you downstairs to your cowboy." I smiled as I stood up and walked towards the door.

I walked down the stairs like I read about in one of the romance book. I felt like one of those queens walking into a ball in a dramatic entrance as all her royal subjects looked up at her in awe. Jasper stood talking with Edward and Emmett.

"Here comes the Queen." Edward gestured to me with a playful bow as I glared at him.

"Hey, keep my thought between you and me." I held the bottom of my dress as I walked down the stairs.

Jasper grabbed my hand gently and kissed the back of my hand as he bowed.

"Shall we get going, my lady?" I laughed as Jasper swept me off my feet and carried me to Rosalie's Mercedes.

"Riding in style?" Jasper chuckled as held the door open for me.

"Of course, can't show up looking like a Queen in an unsuitable carriage." He helped me get my dress into the car before speeding over to his side.

"Okay, you can stop with the Queen thing." He started up the car and we were off to the prom.

I never thought I would ever attend prom in my life. At first it was the fact that I never thought I'd even be attending an actual school, then it was the thought that I'd never have someone to go with. But eventually I didn't have an interest in going, but now that I have Jasper, it was something I wanted to experience. As we drove down the road, extremely fast, Jasper held onto my hand as I took in the fast wind.

"We're here." Jasper helped me out of the car and hook my arm with his as we walked in.

Our picture was taken before we went into the gym where the music was playing the loudest. I waved to Bella as Edward lead her outside to the gazebo.

"Alright, let's slow it down." Eric changed the song to Flightless Bird, American Mouth by Iron & Wine.

Jasper pulled me to his chest as we began to sway. His hands rested on the dip of my waist and he leaned down to rest his chin on my head as my hands held onto his biceps with my head rested on his collarbone.

"Thank you." Jasper looked down at me as I randomly thanked him.

"For what?"

"Do you want the short answer or the long one?" Jasper dipped me before bringing me back to his chest.

"Either one."

"There's a hierarchy in everything, and you made me feel like I'm not at the bottom of it."
