Monday, March 7, 2005 (Cullens house)

Today was extremely sunny, and since only a chosen few know about me being born half vampire, I had to go somewhere else to wait out the sun. Billy and Sam called me a couple times to make sure I was okay since they were two of few people who knew. I quickly decided to spend the day with the Cullens. I sat on the couch reading as Emmett played video games and Edward played the piano. Jasper was probably off somewhere reading like he normally does.

"Alex!" I looked up to the stairs to see Alice beckoning me towards her.

I got up and placed my book onto the table before making my way to the smiling Alice. She dragged me to her room where Rosalie was going through the closet.

"Dress time!" Alice clapped her hands before pulling out a dress.

"I think you'll love this one." It was a long black dress with a plunging neckline and thin straps.

It was beautiful but I felt like Alice was using her gift.

"You saw this in one of your visions, didn't you?" Alice nodded as she shoved the dress towards me.

"You know I hate you, right?"

"Oh, you love me!" I grabbed the dress and walked towards the washroom.

I pulled on the dress and immediately fell in love with the way it fit my body. The top was tight and loosened into the skirt just above where I began to get insecure about my body. It was a little long on me but nothing heels couldn't fix. The plunging neckline stopped at the breast bone and the thin straps didn't feel like they were digging into my shoulders.

"You know Alice, if I hadn't loved this dress so much I would be killing you right now." She giggled as I walked out of the washroom with the dress on and began examining it.

"All you need is a pair of heels." Rosalie snapped her fingers and walked back over to the closed and handed me a pair of black booted heels.

They were ankle height and laced up with had a chunky heel and had a zipper in the side. As I slid my foot in and stood up, I was about 5' 4" compared to my normal 5' 0" height. I wasn't really one for dresses or anything overly girly. I preferred to stay in the garage with Jacob fixing up old junk and driving a motorcycle. But as I looked at myself in the mirror I felt beautiful, I felt feminine, even with my collar length curls and my broad shoulders.

The freckles on my shoulders were on display and I found myself looking for constellation in my freckles. Alice stared at my dotted shoulders and it reminded me of something Jasper had said to me.

"They're lost constellations that fell from the skies. They didn't want to be forgotten so they fell onto my shoulders so I could love them everyday and they'd never be forgotten in exchange." Alice and Rosalie smiled at me as they watched me fall in love with myself.

"How told you that?"

"Jasper did." I dragged my finger across my shoulder to trace the constellations before dragging my hand down my arm to the black dress.
