Ch 10

Kojiro burst through the door of your hospital room at 3:00am. He looked absolutely pissed at you. You smiled sheepishly at him while rubbing the back of your neck "Hey bro! Thanks for coming to pick me up. I really needed it." Your brother didn't say anything, he just slowly walked towards your hospital bed while glaring at you.

You gulped thickly, waiting for the intense scolding you were about to get. But instead Kojiro pulled you into a tight hug and he sighed deeply. He was extremely worried when he got a call from the hospital in the middle of the night saying that you were being discharged but needed a guardian to check you out and bring you home.

He slowly pulled out of the hug and looked into your eyes with a soft expression. "Can you tell me what happened?" you just looked down, not making eye contact with your brother. "I went for a midnight walk to try and clear my head. You were out and Kaoru, well he's on a business trip" Kojiro just nodded his head. He understood that you saw Kaoru as family, and everytime he went on a business trip you would get extremely nervous. You would always worry that you were never going to see him again, because that's what happened with your parents.

That's why Kaoru would say goodbye to you before he ever left for a business trip. Even if you were in school he would see you. He did it to try to give you comfort. Because if it really was the last time you saw each other at least you got to see him and say goodbye one last time. You didn't get to see your parents before they died. So seeing Kaoru before he left was a big deal for you.

"On my way home I thought I heard a noise and got scared so I started running. It was dark so I didn't see the hole in the sidewalk. I stepped in it and wound up twisting my ankle" Kojiro just sighed and made you look at him.

"What's the damage?" He sounded nervous when he asked. All Kojiro hoped was that it wasn't broken again.

"They said it was sprained and that I shouldn't walk on it for a week, so I have to use those crutches" You pointed to the pair that was leaning against the door.

Your brother just sighed walking over to the door to grab the crutches for you. He was sure at this point you just wanted to go home and get some rest. You hated hospitals and Kojiro knew that.

So as soon as he handed you the crutches you started walking out of the hospital and to your brother's car. You were ready for a nap. That's right, a nap. You still had to go to practice in a few hours. Sighing as you got into the car, once the door closed you leaned your head against it falling asleep before you even left the parking lot.

I don't know about you but I'm really good at lying when I have to. So in this story you're gonna be good at lying. Also tell me if anything doesn't make sense. I live in New England and we have a lot of little sayings that a lot of places don't have. So I'll either take them out or I'll do my best to explain. Thanks!
