It was July 16th.
Friday.
Graduation day.
Louis was in his dorm room alone. Harry had left just over half an hour ago so that he could go and get ready – suit and tie, cap, and gown, before he was going out to meet his mother and sister for a 'graduation lunch' as his mum had called it. Louis had another hour and a half to wait. His family were coming over for the ceremony and of course they'd stay to congratulate him and get photos, but they were heading home straight after. They had to drop the twins and Felicite off at their grandparents so that his mum, Mark, and Lottie could come back the next day and help him to pack up everything in his dorm. The second years had to be out of their dorm rooms by three p.m. on the Sundays so the new second years could have their rooms and the new students starting as fist years could have the old first year rooms.
Louis had his suit, graduation cap and gown hung up on the back of the dorm door, staring him straight in the eye's, telling him in just over forty-eight hours he would be at home packing up his room ready for his move to London the following weekend.
Harry didn't know yet but Louis' graduation present form Johannah and Mark was a flat down in London. He wanted to move in with the younger lad as soon as possible after spending nearly every night together since the previous October and knowing that neither lad really wanted to move in and stay in dorms for another four years while they studied their English course further.
Louis had already spoken to a few places close to their new flat building about different job offerings. He had three interviews lined up for his first week in London. However, he still hadn't decided how he was going to ask his boyfriend to move in with him, but he was working on it, so that was why he shot Liam a message asking, 'When Harry leaves, come to the dorm I need to talk to you.'
A knocking at the door sounded through the room not even ten minutes later. Liam.
Louis stood up walking over to the door, turning the handle, opening it, and speaking to the tall figure with the deepest brown eyes on the other side, "Li."
Liam smiled, "Harry's just left, graduation starts in an hour. You said you wanted to talk?"
"Yeah, yeah I did," Louis hesitated, "uhm... my mum and Mark have bought me a flat in London as a grad present and uhm," he hesitated again, "I want to ask Harry to move in with me, but I don't know how to. Any ideas?"
"Take him to dinner, tell him about the flat," Liam paused, thinking about what he wanted to say, "ask him how he feels about his dorm room, tell him Mark and Johannah spoke to Niall, Liam, and Zayn before buying the flat an-"
Louis cut him off, "What?"
"Your mum and Mark spoke to us about the flat. It is in a cosy but big building. Everyone knows everyone. Four – two-bedroom, two-bathroom, one kitchen, one living room and one dining room – flats on each floor. Twelve floors. Me, Zayn and Niall might be in the three other flats on floor twelve," Liam laughed.
Louis stood there staring at his friend shocked, "What?" he huffed, "let me get this straight. We're neighbours?"
"Yes," Liam spoke, "Whole floor to ourselves."
"Right, and who's got what flat? Mum said I had flat four?"
"Z has number 2, I'm in 3 and Ni is in 1."
"Right, well I've got forty minutes to shower and get ready so out. Go use Jess' shower."
"Alright, alright, I'm going," Liam laughed.
Liam walked out of the room and Louis immediately went to the bathroom. Flicking the shower on and waiting for it to get hot before stepping inside. He washed his entire body with the same vanilla shower gel, then washing his hair with the shampoo he had left. After he'd rinsed all the suds away, he turned the shower off, wrapping a towel around his waist and went to the sink, to start brushing his teeth. When he finished, he styled his hair – he shook his head before pushing it to the side of his forehead. He walked out of the bathroom and then pulled his boxers over his legs, followed by his new black suit trousers, making sure to check out his ass in the mirror. He then pulled the new white button up shirt over shoulders, buttoning it all the way before wrapping his deep green tie around his neck and tying it. He slipped his arms into his blazer jacket buttoning the buttons. After he had it buttoned he pulled his gown onto his arms, it was the same shade of deep green as his tie. He pushed his feet into his dress shoes and tied them.
He grabbed his phone, wallet, and his graduation cap before walking out of the dorm, making sure to lock the door behind him. He speed walked out of the building and off campus, Louis went down the street to the flower stall buying a two bunches of red roses – one for his mum and one for Harry – and four single pink roses to give to each of his sisters, before heading back.
Louis walked back to campus quickly checking his message from his mum so that he could find them easier. When he found them, he handed his mum one bunch of the roses, "Thought you might like," he smiled before turning to his sisters, "and each of you get a pretty pink one just like you guys," he handed them each a rose, "and mum can you look after this bunch for me, I bought them for Harry."
"Of course, dear," Johannah said, smiling softly at her eldest child.
Louis stood talking to his family before Principle Higgins stepped up to the stand, "Teachers, parents, students please take your seats." Louis kissed each of his siblings on their cheeks, he hugged his mum and Mark before he walked off to go and find his seat, conveniently placed right next to Harry. Louis silently thanked the alphabetical order.
