"Who's this guy you were with?" Nancy demanded ready to explode.
Who the hell was she to ask me that after rejecting and humiliating me earlier? My blood was boiling and I had no idea why she was even still here.
"He wasn't you. That's what you wanted so why do you care? You lost any say in who I spend my time with. "
"Just because I was upset over your recent decisions doesn't mean you can go fucking everyone! You're still my mate and tonight should tell you that your fuckin actions have consequences. This isn't some damn game. These deaths are on you as much as this pack from Seattle. I don't even know where to begin with the vampires
"I DIDN'T FUCK HIM" I screamed. Well not really… I half expected her to try and dig in my head though she might not of needed to. JoAnn didn't seem convinced Judging by her mumbling to herself.
"You know what? Fuck off! I don't need to deal with this shit. I'm leaving!"
"You're not going-"
A large commotion could be heard from outside. Several werewolves could be seen gathering from the kitchen.
"Ashley caught the pup. I just can't wait to hear what she's going to add to this tale. It just keeps getting better and better." She added in an irritable tone and tossing the glass on the floor with a smirk. Yeah fuck you too, sis.
Me and Nancy traded dirty looks as we followed my sister outside to find about eighteen wolves scattered around the front. Most were in wolf form but a few was still in human. Danny stood off by himself with his hands in his pants pockets. Linda was also here from my sister's pack who stood by herself at the edge of the driveway looking as if she would rather be anywhere else. Being near so many of an opposing pack after everything that's happened must be terrifying. She seemed to take comfort in the fact that she wasn't the focus of attention.
As soon as Ashley appeared from the darkness they started growing and snapping in near unison. Most of them clearly didn't like her but it wasn't Ashley it turned out they were growling at but instead the young woman she was dragging beside her
"Found this one near Sunshine mine." Ashley said pushing her forward by the back of her neck.
"Tyra?" Amber asked in a soft tone. She wasn't only surprised but also seemed hurt.
"You know her?" I inquired
"Not really. She was just turned last month. We spoke a little then but that's about it."
Getting a good look at her instead of the dark van she seemed a little familiar as she had 'started working' soon after I started at Lynn's. A shiver went down my spine thinking how many more was done. Gena was obviously using the place as her recruitment office. A good cover since most were drug addicts, homeless, and from broken families.
Ashley shoved her forward again. This time with a bit more force that was more than her trembling legs could withstand as she fell face first. The others began circling us looking as I'd they were looking for any excuse to attack. The growls hit like the bass at a loud rock concert. It really brought the situation home for me. I felt like I knew werewolves but I'd never seen this side of them.
One snapped just inches from her head. She screamed out pulling away only to retreat in the path of another set of sharp teeth that just missed her back arm by an inch.
"Wait! She wasn't involved." I said looking to Nancy to put an end to this madness only to find her watching with great interest.
"Wasn't involved? That's the best you can do? You said you wanted to leave fine. Go! But you're going back to my place and you're staying there while I sort this out. Greg! Linnea! Sasha! My keys are in the ignition. Take her and Amber to my place and watch them. Don't you dare let them out of your sight!"
