I don't understand. It's like someone knew we were there.

I can hear Nikki and Kat frantically ask for our help, but Dr. A is nowhere to be found in the comms. Then Dan is completely silent. I'm especially worried for him.

No. My sister. I need to get her out. I can't lose someone else!

So I run faster than ever. The streets seem anxious as people whisper with worry and look up at the alarm on the large screens.

Someone has broken in.

About a block away, there's already soldiers in white guarding the place. Sam gestures at us to go towards the back.

"We need to make a distraction to break in," Sam says.

Dom does a smirk and starts fireballs in his hands. "Leave it to me."

The moment he finishes saying this, Dom strongly hits the ground with a fist and a circle of blazing fire surrounds the whole building. Soldiers from all parts shout and have wide eyes.

Among the smoke, they cannot see Mia immediately bring up her hands which makes all their guns leave their hands. This makes them even more surprised, and they don't see how Sam and I kill the soldiers on the back. I can kick down the back door now.

Who cares if the cameras see us. They know we're in there anyways. I'm ready to face these bloody liars once and for all...

We burst into a chaotic room of soldiers and students. Luckily, some parents and outsiders have entered to protest to see their children. We are able to blend in and make it towards the hallway we last saw the girls. With only a quick hand movement, Mia makes the cameras explode. We should've made her go in instead.

"Jordyn!"

My world finally falls silent as I catch my sister in my arms. I hold her tight and for the first time, she doesn't push herself out of my strong arms.

But eventually she pulls away and lays a fiery kiss on Dom's lips. He holds her with a tenderness that makes me see a new kind of look on them.

Love changed them. It's changed us all. It's made us stronger...

Strong enough to run through the crowds and try to get out. Sam's yellow eyes turn swiftly towards a soldier and they meet eye to eye.

That's it.

The soldier immediately raises his gun up at him, and that same red light turns green from that day at the diner. But Sam is faster. No. Mia is even faster as she senses the trigger about to get pulled.

All in a quick second, I watch Mia raise her palm at the gun and it hits the soldier in the face. Others see this and now it's our moment we've been training for.

Sam does a wolf-like growl that makes his yellow eyes shine brighter than ever. Then he takes a leap in the air and lands on a soldier. Dom immediately brings out fireballs out of his palms and burns the soldiers coming in to help.

My every muscle awakens in a way I have not felt before, but my mind brings me to look around.

Nikki! She was just here!

I push myself through the crowd as I hear Emms's voice in my head.

Careful, Jordyn. I need you back with me. Please come back to me—

"Mia!"

I take a hold of a girl with familiar curly brown hair. The moment I turn her around, it's like I'm back when I first saw her at our house. Big shining eyes with a wonder and recklessness. At the moment she had a smile. Now...determination makes her beautiful.
