I smile at the feeling of her body moving slowly by my side. I turn to my side, and see her bare back and the way the bed sheets form her curves. Her brown wavy hair beautifully falls down her back and some on her chest. Her side moves slowly at the rhythm of her peaceful sleep.

I smile up at the ceiling. God. Why didn't I come to her sooner? Does my ego really get the best of me like she says?

Who cares. I have her now and that's all that matters...

I turn my head at the sound of her breath. She does a small sigh and moves her legs a little. My heart playfully makes me scoot closer to her so I can softly lay my lips on her bare shoulder and down her arm.

She immediately feels me and does a small groan. "Please. At least one night of good sleep."

"But it's the afternoon."

"Right. I forgot."

We both share a quiet chuckle and I bring her closer to my chest. I don't have to look over to see that she's smiling to the feeling of my embrace. This reminds me of that date I promised her. We didn't last long in that restaurant. We just ended up going to an old apartment I found once for some time alone.

Finally. I don't have to spend time alone here...

She turns over and I kiss her button nose. Her big blue eyes shine brighter than ever as she says, "Well?"

"Well?"

"Should we get going?"

"Where to?"

"My brother's thing. What was it?"

"The baseball game?" I let out a scoff. "Baseball is for losers."

"Hey there. That's my brother you're talking about." She gives my lips a long kiss and I put a strand of hair behind her ear.

"He still doesn't like me."

"Imagine if he knew that we're here." I give her a smirk and bury my face in her neck. She giggles quietly and gently pushes me back. "Seriously. We have to get going."

"Why? You have someone important to see over there?"

"Uh yes. My brother."

"C'mon," I say as I take her waist and bring her closer. "Do you really want to go to a dusty field instead of being here with me?"

She stays silent as her eyes wonder around my expression. Her expression softens as she puts a hand on my shoulder and quietly says, "You know I'd be here all day. With you? Ummm...maybe not."

I laugh at this as she gives me a smirk and lays her head on my chest. We stay silent; enjoying each other's touch. It sends a shivering sensation down my spine and I wish I can stay here forever. No wars. No betrayal. No mistakes. Here. With her.

A loud growl makes me open my eyes and furrow my brows. I almost think it's me until Nikki does a small chuckle and says, "Whoops. Sorry."

"Was that you?"

"I think so."

"When was the last time you ate?"

She stays quiet until she mumbles, "I haven't been eating very often...."

I look down at her with surprise. "Is someone taking your food or something? Because you're mom makes amazing food."

I expect for her to laugh, but all she does is give me a small smile. "Yeah. I haven't seen my mother very often either..."

"Wait. Has someone--"

"No. It's not what you think," she quickly says before worry makes me ask too many questions. She does a sigh and I can immediately see the sadness in her eyes. "We've all been too busy."
