As I step out of my room, I furrow my brows when I see Sam's door wide open. He's usually deep in the maps that Adeline gave him of the Forbidden Building.

He's coming late tonight?

He must be with that snake. She keeps distracting him whenever we're discussing plans and there he is. Smiling that small smile that makes his yellow eyes shine. She, too, let's her bright blue eyes shine brighter. She's good.

Don't worry, Sam. I won't let you do anything stupid. I won't let her blind you from what's important.

I won't let her hurt you, brother...

But I let my mind forget of my oblivious brother. As always, a girl with big blue eyes steals my every thought as she steps out of her front porch. I have the door open for her as she gives me her small smile. Something's bothering her. A lot has been on her mind that stops her bright smile from appearing.

I still give her a quick kiss before waving to her mother goodbye from afar.

"Can you tell Mia to call me?" she yells. "I have something for her!"

"Of course, ma'am! Have a good afternoon!"

"Be safe!"

Can we even be safe anymore? Is there anyway to hide from the dangers at each corner of this city?

I don't know. I never will. All I know is that her touch is enough to keep fighting. To keep smiling. To keep standing firm just to get a glimpse of those bright blue eyes.

"Where are we going?" she softly says.

I scoff at this and playfully kiss her hand. "Since when do you ask where we're going? Just enjoy. Trust me."

"Enjoy?" she says with a hint of anger. "How when we have to enter a building that is impossible to break down? How do you want me to relax when we are literally going to risk our heads tomorrow?!"

"Woah! Hey! Relax--"

"Shut up, Dom!"

I abruptly park at a curb and let my eyes burn at her surprised look. "Nikki. You need to calm down--"

"No! Don't you dare tell me that. You are not the one entering the Forbidden Building. Okay. Fine! I'm afraid! I'm scared that I will have my father's fate! I'm scared that we are doing all of this for nothing. I'm scared--"

"Nikki."

For once, I don't have to raise my voice for someone to listen to me. For once, she stops talking and her frantic eyes find mine. I can see the fear in them. They shine so beautifully. If only she saw the girl I fall in love with every time I see that shine. If only she saw the strength I see deep down in those big blue eyes.

But for now, I give her a small smile and take her hand. She watches me do this. Quieter than the wind outside. Quieter than our racing hearts. Tears threaten to fall from her soft cheeks, but I hold them first. I let my thumb run on her cheek to remind her that no matter what happens, our love is as powerful than the fire within me.

She is more powerful than anyone that tries to stop her.

Yet...I don't say any of this because she can already see it in me. She can see it on my lips as she softly tastes them. Her muscles start to relax and her hands find my shoulders.

Now I know she's okay...

I give her forehead one last kiss and start the car again. "Do you trust me?"

Nikki gives me that smirk that sets my heart on fire. "Always. Anywhere...Any moment."

Her heart is at rest the whole time we drive through the city. I really don't know where to take her, but I don't want to end up at my old apartment room I found. She deserves better.
