Happy chapter 40!

I would've never even dreamed this book would make it this far but here we are, 7 or so months in the making!

Because our 3 main characters are no longer in Maglins at the moment, I will be using other people's perspectives!

Without further ado, here is chapter 40,

Catherine Everblade

Watching Charles leave in a carriage to go to the ministry was a great feeling, he can't hurt me or scare me now.

All classes got canceled for tomorrow because the professors needed to go through his room, and see if he stole anything else.

Once I told Vin that I had to kiss Charles in order to get out, he was actually very proud of me for not staying with him. If he hadn't been outside the door, things may not have gone as smoothly as they did.

Vin also told me that before we leave his dormitory to go anywhere, he's going to make sure I have my wand so I don't forget it again.

It was comforting to know how much he cared.

Our remaining friend group, myself, Vin, Charlotte, and Frankie met to hang out and talk about everything that's been happening.

We all sat in a small circle in the astronomy classroom, Vin and I on one side, and Charlotte and Frankie on the other. The astronomy classroom has to be the only one that is never locked.

"Why didn't you have your wand with you?" Charlotte asked.

"Catherine and Vin were shagging and she forgot it," Frankie teased.

"Not true!" I shouted.

"Oh yeah?" Frankie teased again, "What's the real reason then?"

I thought for a minute, "I don't know,"

We all began laughing.

I had missed this.

"What're you planning on doing tomorrow now that classes are cancelled?" Vin asked Frankie.

"Not sure honestly," He said, giving Charlotte a look to which we all laughed again.

"Do either of you know where Pipher is?" I questioned, "I want to write to him about what happened,"

"Yeah," Vin responded, "Come to my dormitory and I'll write it down for you,"

"Are yall gonna shag too?" Frankie joked, causing everybody except Vin to laugh. Once he saw me laughing though, he joined us all.

"How would you all feel about going to lunch tomorrow?" Charlotte asked.

"I'd love that," I responded.

"Me too," Vin answered.

"Frankie?" She questioned.

"What?" He answered.

"Are you not paying attention?" I laughed.

"Do you want to come to lunch with us all tomorrow?" Charlotte asked once more.

"Oh, yeah,"

"Did they find out whose wand Charles had been using?" Charlotte asked us all.

"It was a professors," I added, "Which makes him stealing it ten times worse,"

"Are they gonna put him in prison?" She asked.

"Probably,"
