Pipher Green
My bag was packed with assorted items that I would need while I stay with Lucy for Christmas break. This included clothing, my wand, my orb, schoolwork, books, and my writing materials.
I don't know how bored I may become so I packed extra things just in case.
Today was the day Lucy and I were leaving Maglins for the holiday and so was everyone else from the suite.
We all said our goodbyes to each other on our way out though we would all send each other letters anyway. Lucy and I were second to leave after Charlotte and Frankie who left early in the morning, just shortly after breakfast.
Lucy's parents did not send a carriage as they were too busy with things at home and work so Lucy was in charge of getting us and her sister there.
"Do I have to do it?" She pleaded while rolling her eyes.
"Neither of us can," I responded.
With that, Lucy apparated the three of us to the outside of her house. The only way I can describe it is that it's different than I expected it to be.
We all rushed into the house and greeted her parents who welcomed me with a kind hug.
"Is anyone hungry?" Mrs. Nova asked.
The three of us looked at each other before laughing, "I think we all are," Lucy said, setting down her bag of belongings. We all still had our uniforms on but I didn't mind as it gave me plenty of pockets and kept me warm. Paige on the other hand rushed upstairs almost immediately to take it off and change into something more comfortable.
At first sight, it looked like she had changed into pajamas but with further investigation, it was just sweatpants, a cozy christmas sweater, and fuzzy socks.
I became jealous just looking at how comfy she was.
We all sat down at the dining table and ate with the exception of Mr. Nova who I would assume was at work. The meal was fairly silent apart from somebody asking to pass something to them and the occasional small talk.
"How's the fifth year been treating you?" Her mom asked.
"Quite well, I've become friends with all of Pipher's friends and just the other day we started dating," She replied, shooting me a smile which I returned.
"How old are you, Pipher?" Her mom asked.
"Turned sixteen in May,"
"Going for the younger ones huh?" She asked Lucy to which we both laughed, "What year are you?"
"Third,"
"And you're making sure that Lucy is behaving?"
I laughed, "Of course,"
The meal consisted of sharing events that have happened at school over the last few months as well as Mrs. Nova shared some events that have happened in the news.
She reads the newspaper everyday so I'm sure she could recite almost all events that have happened while we've been away at school.
From a flood that occurred at a nearby city to a robbery occurring at the Benari palace.
"What did they take?" Paige asked curiously.
"It didn't have a lot of detail but it was said that they stole emerald jewelry and then used magic to apparate away, not to be seen since," Her mom responded, "Seems unusual for something like that to happen,"
"Aren't there dozens of guards though?"
"Fifty something, yeah," Her mom answered.
It was strange that she knew all of this off the top of her head. Now I know where Lucy gets the ability to absorb knowledge from.
