A smile spread across my face at the sight of an ice cream cake.

'Twas my birthday, and I was not in the mood for a treat you bake.

My big brother raced me to the freezer with a giant grin.

Not one grocery worker was around to watch us close in.

In my teen years, running against people was plenty of fun.

But the idea of dropping cute cakes had me feeling done.

My brother lifted the dessert and placed it in our small cart.

He's more coordinated than his sister who dropped a tart.

We hurried our parents home and enjoyed a delicious treat.

As a whole, I had a cool birthday that was extremely sweet.
