Kate's POV
"Brian get off of me!" I screamed. He was stratling me with a knife in his hand.
"Just tell me where you put my alcohol!" He yelled putting the blade closer to my neck.
"You don't need it! You've already had a whole case today! Now get off me before I call the cops!" I say trying to squirm free.
"Fine, if your not going to tell me then I'm just going to leave. And I swear if you call the cops, it's not going to end well for either of us." He says getting off of me, taking the knife with him. He takes his coat off of the couch and walks out the door. I get up off the floor and lock the door. I look out the window and see him getting in his car. I flip him off and close the curtain. I look for my phone and find it on the kitchen table. I check my messages and see that I have one from my best friend Meghan. "Hey Kate! Hope you and Brian are doing okay! Call me sometime!! xx" I dial her number and wait for her to pick up. She answers at the third ring.
"Hey Kate!!!! Whats up girl! How are you?" She says
"Hi Meghan. I'm okay, been better." I reply with a sigh
"What's wrong?" She asks
"Well me and Brian just had a fight. I seriously thought he was going to hurt me this time. I could tell he was drunk." I said getting tears in my eyes
"Kate that's the third time this week! You need to do something about this soon. You need to get away from him." She says
"I know but what am I supposed to do?" I asked about to cry
"You could move in with me! We have room! I'm sure David and Joey wouldn't mind!" She said cheerfully.
"Are you serious??? Meghan are you sure it's ok because I don't want to be an inconvenience to everyone" I said
"No of course not! It'll be great!!!!!! I promise you can come whenever you want! Your family to us!" she said
"Ok then! I guess I'm moving in!" I said with the biggest smile on my face
"YAYYYY!!! Oh my gosh Kate this is going to be so much fun!!! We're going to be living together!!!" she said excitedly
"I know!!! But one question, who's Joey?" I asked
"Oh I forgot about Joey! He's our friend who lives with us. Don't worry! I think you two will be great friends!" she said
"Oh ok! Well I guess I'm gonna start packing!" I said
"Ok Kate text me later!!! Byeeee!!" she said
"Byeeee!" I hung up the phone. Now I just have to do this without Brian knowing.
