Chapter Eight

<Joey's POV>

Kate and I watch Adventure Time on the couch for a while. Her head is on my lap. I stroke her hair and hold her hand. After a few episodes I checked the time, it was 11:00pm. I turn off the tv. 

"Kate?" I whisper. She doesn't reply. She must have fell asleep. I pick her up and carry her bridal style upstairs. I put her in my bed and I cover her up with the blanket. I change into my pajama's (Just my boxers) and I brush my teeth. I lay down in my bed and kiss Kate on the forehead. 

"Goodnight beautiful" I whisper

<Kate's POV>

I wake up the next morning somehow in Joey's bed. I roll over to see Joey sleeping like a baby. I smile and realize that my phone's still downstairs from when we were watching tv. I get up slowly to not wake up Joey and I go downstairs. I get my phone and check the time. It's 7:30am. I yawn and go back upstairs to Joey's room. I lay back down and I check my messages. Meghan texted me last night after I turned my phone off. "Hey Kate! How are you guys doing? Miss you guys already!-M" I text her back "Hey Meghan! We miss you too! We're doing great! We didn't do a lot after you guys left yesterday but I liked it. Joey is so sweet. Call you later!-K" I put my phone on the nightstand and I cuddle next to Joey. After a few minutes I fall back asleep.

<A few hours later>

I wake up later and Joey's not there. Then I see he left a note on my phone. "Hey babe, went for a run with Wolf. Be back soon" I get up and take a shower. I turn on the shower and let it get hot. I take off my clothes and I hop in. I hear the front door open and close. I knew it was just Joey. I shave my legs and I start singing my favorite song "Bright Lights Bigger City" because it was stuck in my head.

"I've been living for the weekend, but no not anymore. 'Cause here comes that familiar feeling that Friday's famous for. Yeah I'm looking for some action, and it's out there somewhere. You can feel the electricity, all in the evening air" I sing. I continue singing while I wash my hair and shave my armpits. After I was done I turned off the shower and dried myself off. I wrapped a towel around myself and I opened the bathroom door. Outside stood Joey still with his running clothes on.

"Can I help you?" I say smiling

"Yes you can, you can sing more. You have such an amazing voice Kate, why have you not sung before?" Joey says

"Joey I'm not that good. I just used to sing in chorus when I was in high school" I say starting to walk to my room

"Kate, you're the best singer I've ever heard! You need to like make a video and put it up on youtube! I bet all my fans would love your voice and you" he says following me into my room

"Joey, can we talk about this later? I need to get dressed" I say

"Fine but this is going to happen!" he says leaving. I roll my eyes and laugh. I put on just a casual outfit, a cute striped tanktop and some high waisted shorts. I put on my make-up and straighten my hair. Then I pull half of it up and put in a cute bow to match my outfit. Today I was going to be in one of Joey's videos. I was kind of nervous but excited because I've never been in a youtube video before. I walked into Joey's room where he had his camera and lights all set up. 

"You ready?" he asked

"Yep I'm ready!" I said. He pushed record on his camera and started his video

"Hello there everyone! So today if you can't tell I'm doing the girlfriend tag. Now me and this person have only been boyfriend girlfriend for a little while now so I thought I should introduce her to you guys! Here she is!" he says. I sit down next to him and look at the camera.

"Hi guys! My name's Kate!" I say. We film the rest of the video and I have a great time. We answer questions about us and our relationship and it's perfect. 

"Okay guys well I hope you enjoyed this video! If you did please give it a big thumbs up and some exciting news! Kate is starting a youtube channel!! So I will leave her links in the description. I love you guys, I'll see ya all tomorrow! Good damn bye!" and covers the lens.

"Joey? I'm not starting a youtube channel why are you saying that?" I ask

"Because I am going to help you start a youtube channel for singing" he says

"For singing Joey? I told you I'm not good!" I say 

"Kate, you are the best singer I've ever heard. Trust me, you are going to be a success" he says kissing my cheek. I smile and go back to my room to get my phone. I see that I have a voicemail and I listen to it.

"Hey baby. I miss you so much. When are you coming home and why aren't you calling me? We need to talk" It's Brian. I shiver after I listen to the whole message. What am I supposed to tell him? I reluctantly dial his number and wait until he picks up. 

"Hey baby. Why haven't you been calling me back?" his cold voice asks

"Hey Brian, Um they don't allow phones in the hospital so I haven't been able to call or text anyone" I say lying

"Well when are you coming back?" he asks. I knew the only reason he wanted me home was because I always made him food and cleaned the house.

"Uh I don't know. He's not getting any better so my family wants me to stay" I say nervously. I do not want him to come look for me and take me home.

"Oh that's too bad. Hope he either hurrys up and dies so you can come home, or get better so you can come home" he says. I wish he was here so I could slap him

"Yeah uh huh well I have to go bye" I say quickly hanging up the phone. I hated him so much. I put my pajama's on because it was about 8:00pm and went into Joey's room. Here Joey was laying on his bed on the computer, probably editing his video.

"What were you doing that took so long?" Joey asks

"I was on the phone with Brian" I say sitting down next to him

"What did he want?" he asks

"Well he's just been wondering when I'm coming home and why I haven't texted or called him" I say

"Did you tell him 'because you're a b*tch ass skank ass hoe'?" Joey asks

"No but that's what I was thinking" I say laughing. "So what are you working on?" I ask 

"Well, I just set up your first youtube channel!" he says showing me his computer

"Oh my gosh Joey it looks great! Thank you so much!" I say hugging him. Joey finishes up the final touches and puts away his computer. We watch some tv and we both fall asleep
