Kate POV
I got out my suit case and set it on my bed. I started packing all my clothes and my belongings. I really didn't have that much stuff because I hadn't lived in this house for long. I start taking everything off my shelves and my bed-side table and I remember, how am I going to keep Brian from coming to find me? I finnish putting all my stuff in my bag and think of a plan. I text Meghan saying that I would leave tomorrow and hopefully get there by tomorrow night. I have to tell Brian that I'm going somewhere but I can't tell him where I'm going and that I'm not coming back. I dial his number and wait. He doesn't answer. I wait until I hear the beep and leave him a message
"Hi Brian, so listen. I have a family emergency and I have to leave right away. I'm leaving tomorrow. Okay bye!" I hang up the phone. I look at the time and see that it's 11:30 pm so I crawled into my bed and fell asleep.
<Next Day>
I wake up to the sound of my phone vibrating. I roll over and reach for my phone. I look and I see that it's Brian trying to call me, so I relentlessly answer.
"Hello?" I say in a groggy morning voice
"Kate, you're leaving today? What happened?" he said
"Umm, my uhh..... brother had a uhh..... surgery on his um leg and uh he's not doing well" I say trying to make it sound as real as possible
"Oh ok but doesn't your brother live in Los Angeles?" he asked
"No, he uh moved last year to uhh...... New York. So I have to go to New York" I say hoping he can't tell I'm lying
"New York's a big city Kate. I wanna come with you, just to make sure you're safe" he said
"No no no no it's ok I promise, I'll be fine! Ok well my flight leaves soon I gotta go bye" I say hanging up the phone. I hope he doesn't get suspicious. I grab my bags and my ticket and I get a taxi. I tell the driver to take me to the airport. We get there in a few minutes. I walk through security and wait for my plane to start boarding. I check my twitter and see that Meghan tweeted "My best friend is moving in! Can't wait for you all to meet her!!!" I smile and hear that my plane is boarding. I grab all my bags and head toward the plane. I give the lady my ticket and walk onto the plane. My seat was middle class because I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a plane ticket. I find my seat and sit down. No one sits next to me, and that's perfectly fine with me. I put my earbuds in and listen to Ed Sheeran and eventually fall asleep.
