Joey's POV
"No way!" Daniel laughs taking a sip of his smoothie almost choking
"It's true!" I say laughing
"You know Joey, you're a really funny guy!" he says
"Why thank you! And by the way, thank you for meeting me on such short notice. I really just needed a friend" I say
"No problem, I needed a friend too. I just broke up with my boyfriend and it's been really rough" he says
"I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm sure it was for the best, and he was probably a b*tch ass skank ass hoe" I say laughing
Daniel laughs and some of his smoothie comes out of his nose. We laugh even harder. Everyone around us is giving us weird looks, but we ignore them. Daniel and I talk for about two hours, by this time, it's about 1pm. Kate's tried to call me and has texted me about 30 times. I ignored her though, I just needed some time.
"I had a great time, we should do this again sometime" I say giving him a hug
"Totally! Text me whenever" he said while hugging me. We hugged for a while, I didn't want it to end. His embrace was so warm, so caring. But I knew I had to let go. We went our separate ways. I knew I should get home and apologize to Kate.
<At Home>
I walk into the front door and I see Kate sitting on a chair in front of the front door. She stands up and runs towards me and hugs me. I pull her in tight, rubbing her back. She starts sobbing into my chest. I hold her for what seems like forever. I kiss her forehead, and I pull her onto the couch. I stroke her hair, listening to her sobs starting to fade away. We lay together all afternoon, just sitting, occasionally talking. I tell her I'm sorry and she apologizes and explains everything. I tell her about Daniel and about our short film that we were shooting later this year. It was the best afternoon.
