Chapter Four

Kate's POV

I wake up the next morning around 10:00. I check my phone and see that Brian texted me. It read "Hey baby, hope you're doing fine. Your friend Meghan tweeted that her best friend was moving in, do you know who that is? Call me later~B" I threw my phone and hugged myself feeling the tears hot in my eyes. What was I going to do? Brian's going to find out that I'm not really in New York and come and find me. I lay back down in my bed and start crying hysterically. I didn't care if Meghan or David or Joey heard me, I just needed to let it all out. I start crying into my pillow. I lay face down on my bed and sob. After a few minutes of just letting it all out I start to calm down. Just then, I hear a knock at the door.

"Kate, it's Joey. Can I come in?" he said

"Sure" I said wipping the tears from my face. He walks in and sits down on my bed.

"Is everything okay? I didn't want to come in earlier because it sounded like you just needed some time. he said reasurringly

"Joey, I can trust you right? I mean we just met yesterday but I can trust you right?" I asked

"Of course" he said

"Ok, well the reason why I moved out here is because I had a boyfriend, or ex boyfriend now, and he was abusive to me and he would drink all the time. And I would always tell Meghan and she said that I needed to do something about it. I couldn't call the cops because Brian threatened me that if I called the cops that he would hurt me. I just couldn't take it anymore and I couldn't do anything to stop him. The reason why I was crying was because he texted me saying that he saw Meghan's tweet saying that her best friend was moving in and he asked if I knew who it is and he knows that I'm Meghan's best friend and I'm afraid that he's going to come find me" I couldn't go on. I starting crying again. 

"It's okay Kate" he said hugging me. I hugged him tight and kept crying. He smelled like Axe, the way every man should smell. I cried for a while and after I stopped we stopped hugging. 

"Kate, I promise we'll get through this ok?" he said

"Ok, thank you Joey for putting up with me" I said smiling

"It's okay, don't worry. You can always have my shoulder when you cry" he said with a sparkle in his eye. 

We both got up and went downstairs where Meghan was making breakfast. The kitchen smelled like orange juice and bacon.

"Morning guys! I made us some breakfast!" Meghan said putting eggs and bacon on some plates. 

"Thanks Meghansan!" Joey said taking a plate "Oh shoot I left my camera upstairs. Brb!" he said running up the stairs.

"Kate are you okay? I heard you crying upstairs" Meghan said grabbing us some cups and silverware.

"Yeah I'm okay now. I just needed to get it out of my system" I said taking a fork. I ate my eggs and Joey came back into the kitchen. He had his camera out in front of him like he was taking a picture of himself but instead he was talking to it and walking around.

"Oi hello there everyone. It is a bright shinning shimmering day here in Los Angeles. I'm just getting ready to have some breakfast with Meghansan and my new friend Kate" he said. He pointed the camera at us and I waved while Meghan did her usual peace sign. "We're eatin some eggyanyas and some turkey bacon. We eatin good in the neighborhood" he said. He then turned off the camera and came and ate breakfast with us. 

"Joey? What did you just do with your camera and talking to it?" I asked

"It's called vlogging. It's like a video diary of my life that I post on youtube every day" he said. 

"Oh ok" I said still a little confused but went with it anyway.

Hey guys! Hope you liked this chapter. I know it was a weird place to leave off but I felt like it was a really long chapter and I don't want to make these chapters too long. I was litterally almost crying while I was writting this chapter :'( sorry it was mostly crying but I promise it'll get better in the next couple of chapters. Thanks for reading!!!!
