When I wake up Tobias is gone but the ache in my chest isn't. What Blake did to me is the worst form of torture a wolf can ever inflict on their mate and Blake did it to punish me for being a runt.
I wish Tobias was still there when I woke up but I understand why he had to leave. He has other responsibilities within this pack I'm sure, and I'm definitely not very high up on his list.
Blake and the she wolf are moving around downstairs, I can hear them talking and laughing. The lull and whispered conversations sound like they are plotting something. They are keeping their voices so hushed that I can make out what they are saying from the floor above. I'm assuming whatever is going on, it's about me.
Sighing heavily, I throw myself back on the bed. My wrist has healed enough that it no longer twinges when I move it, strangely my wrist seems to have healed faster than ever before. I suspect that miserably it's because of my close proximity to Blake.
Cackling laughter reaches me and I groan, burying my head under the pillow. The temptation to just launch myself out of the window and take my chances as a rogue is getting more and more powerful with every depressing moment that passes.
Once, I dreamed of the day I would find my mate, but now I dream of the moment Blake will announce to me he has severed the bond. It's all I want.
Heavy footsteps on the stairs make me tense in fear. My door is thrown open and I squeeze my eyes shut. I can already tell it's Blake from the smell of him, I don't need to look at him.
"Get up!" He barks.
With my eyes still tightly shut, I get up from the bed and stand before him.
"Open your eyes, look at me when I'm talking to you!"
I swiftly open my eyes and keep them fixed on his boots, I know it's a trap to look him in the eyes. Whatever he has planned for me right now, I'm guessing antagonising him is not the best choice.
"Ahhh." I squeal out in shock when Blake's hand tightly wrenches around my throat. "You're coming with me."
He drops his hand away from my throat, I drop to the floor and frantically try to gasp for air. It feels like he's crushed my windpipe slightly because all I can hear in my ears is a crackle.
A chocked sob sneaks out as I scramble to my feet and follow behind Blake down the stairs. I can tell by the way Blake is holding his head is that he is mind linking someone, the dread that hits me is like a bucket of water being dunked on my head.
I stand by the front door where Blake pointed at me to stand awkwardly shuffling my feet. I'm only wearing Tobias' socks and an ear against the door tells me it's tipping it down with rain.
