After we clamber out of the river, Tobias shakes himself off momentarily forgetting that I was on his back. I squeal and cling onto his fur as the scent of wet dog surrounds me.

Tobias dips his head as if in apology before he takes off in a sprint again. The rhythmic pounding of his feet and the warmth of his fur makes me feel sleepy so I close my eyes after making sure I'm still clinging to his fur.

Whilst a deep sleep is impossible without running the risk of falling off a moving creature, I allow myself to doze lightly. I'm still aware that we are moving, and that I'm clinging to Tobias but everything else blurs behind my closed eyelids.

We come to a stop after a while, I'm not sure exactly how long but judging by the night sky we've already been running for about two hours. Tobias bows his head to signal me to leave his back which I do with very little dignity. I trip over my feet and land on my bottom with a bump.

Tobias let's out a wolffish chuckle making me scowl playfully at him before he nuzzles his head against the backpack. I nod in understanding and pull it from my shoulders opening it and holding it wide for Tobias to find his clothes. Once his snout re-emerges with his clothes in his teeth, I turn my back to give him some respect to shift.

After a few moments, a hand drops heavily on my shoulder making me jump slightly.

"You ok Immy?" Tobias asks me softly, I nod quickly, regardless of the truth and smile weakly up at him.

"There's some food and water in the bag, we still have two hours to go."

"Where are we going?" I ask as I fumble through the bag, searching for a bottle of water. Once my hand closes on something cold and metal I sigh in relief. Despite my dry throat, I pull the bottle from he bag and hand it over to Tobias first, he's been running for miles.

He takes a long drink before answering my question. "It's a cabin, I built it so no one knows about it."

"Oh." In truth, my short answer is not at all what I'm thinking but I still want to keep quiet around Tobias even though he's not alpha Blake, that doesn't mean he constantly wants a runt talking his ear off.

I take a drink and then put the bottle back in the bag, I'm too startled by the drastic turn my evening has taken to eat anything so I settle on looking at my hands as Tobias devours a sandwich beside me.

The cold without Tobias' warmth to protect me is starting to make my bones ache. My feet have no shoes, only a pair of socks which are soaked and frozen from the river. Tobias' jumper is slightly dryer because it's been pressed against a warm wolf but it's still damp.
