Imogen is her pack's runt. She was a surprise to her family, and a disgrace. Her father is the gamma of her pack so her existence as the runt is a disappointment and disgusting.
Her family wait for the moment when she can find her mate, leave the pa...

Swallowing hard, I rest my hand on Tobias' head as he gently pads alongside me as we enter the pack boundaries. I had noticed that Tobias didn't bring clothes with him to shift back but then I realised it was a display of his authority. He is the alpha now, his pack members have to bring him clothes; it's a sign of respect.
A cracking of bones tells me Tobias has shifted back to his human form, I don't turn to look at him. I am admittedly a little embarrassed to look at Tobias naked in this light so I would prefer to keep my eyes fixed on his face. A few seconds later Tobias' hand sneaks into mine and gives me a soft squeeze.
"We'll go to my house first, Imogen and then I will call the meeting."
"Why?" I wonder aloud, surely it would make sense to just get this over with.
"Because I have something to give you."
"Oh," I'm stunned and caught of guard so I keep my mouth shut and I look down at the floor.
Tobias walks alongside me in silence, the few pack members we pass gawk at us, at me, until Tobias gives them a ferocious growl. Of course the pack already know that Tobias is the new alpha, they would have felt the power shift down the bond.
"My house is just to the left."
I nod and lean my head against his shoulder when the sight of his house comes into my line of sight. When I see it, I draw back.
It's not like the homely cabin at all, it's cold and lifeless looking. It's not a house for Tobias at all.
"This is it?" I question, my tone conveys to Tobias my surprise because he clears his throat and looks down at me before beginning to speak.
"It's not great, I know. It just never felt like home so why bother making it look like it."
"Right." I nod my head in agreement and look up at the top floor of the house as we walk down the front door.
As we arrive at the door, I suddenly panic and realise that Tobias won't have a key with him. It's these little things that always stress me out, a leftover from my father.
"It's open, baby." Tobias must be able to read my mind or something because he always know when something is worrying me. The door pushes open and I feel embarrassed that I got so stressed over nothing, I need to stay calm because stress can't be good for the pup.
If Tobias knew that I was pregnant then I'm almost certain we wouldn't be here today but I don't want Tobias to find out by me telling him. I have my own plan about how Tobias is going to find about our pup and I'm not going to ruin that.
"Imogen wait here for a moment, I'll be right back."
I nod and look around at the hall Tobias has left me in. There are no photographs of any people on the walls, there are a few pictures of trees and birds but nothing personal. As I walk around the downstairs, I notice that is a growing theme, there is nothing personal here. You could walk into this house and never know that Tobias lived here, it makes me sad to think that he had been existing like this for so many years.
