Sunlight streams through the window, waking me up from my contented sleep. Groaning, I roll over and almost jump in surprise when I feel a hard warm body laying beside me.
Opening my eyes, I see Tobias laying close to me on his back, his face still etched with deep sleep. Smiling and moving on instinct, I shuffle over to his body and rest my head on his chest.
Almost immediately Tobias reacts, I hadn't meant to wake him up but I think I have. He lets out a sleep groan and wraps his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to his body.
Biting my lip to hide my beaming smile, I close my eyes again. Under the soft warmth of my mate's body I feel sleep calling to me again. I don't put up a fight as I slip back into a dozing state.
With Tobias by my side I feel relaxed and safe. I'm aware of my thoughts as I try to recapture a deep restful sleep, I shouldn't have woken Tobias up so early so now I need to keep still and quiet.
"Still awake Immy?" Tobias' gravelly voice fills the room as he opens one eye to look down at me. I nod against his chest and press my face into his soft skin.
"Wanna talk for a bit?"
"But it's early and I woke you up."
"It's fine." Tobias sighs and rolls over onto his side, flipping me over with him. Our faces are pressed together, our noses close, our lips dangerously so.
I let out a deep huff of happiness and then I halt. I realise my breath must stink after a night of sleep and I quickly purse my lips tightly closed.
"I know what you're thinking." Tobias murmurs, obviously amused at my antics as his eyes search my face in the morning glow.
"What am I thinking about then?" I bat my eyelids at him playfully whilst keeping my lips as closed as I can while speaking, a difficult feat I will admit.
"You're worried about your breath," Tobias drawls as he gives me a lazy smirk and moves his body so his chest is leaning over my body, his arms caging my head, "but if you think that your breath is going to bother me right now, you clearly don't know me at all little mate."
"Oh," I blush as Tobias' eyes dart down to my lips and then back up to my eyes.
I watch in excitement and anticipation as Tobias lowers his face until his lips reach mine. It's a slow, easy kiss. Lazy with the morning haze and I love it.
Our lips mould together as if they are puzzle pieces and I never want to be separated from the sensation of Tobias, my mate, kissing me, loving me.
All too soon, his lips leave mine and I almost whine in disappointment. I feel such desire for him burning in my chest and my wolf is urging me forwards. I want him to mark me, to claim me.
Tobias doesn't disappoint me, he brushes my cheeks and nose with gossamer kisses before his breathing shifts. He descends down to my neck as his kiss becomes heavier and more urgent.
He nips and sucks down my skin making me gasp and whimper in delight. My hands reach around his neck and I delve my hands into his windswept hair.
When his lips find the soft part of my neck a moan escapes me before I can stifle it. Tobias smirks easily against my skin before continuing to focus his efforts on that spot.
After a few seconds, I feel Tobias' teeth brush against my skin and I tense. Not from fear, but from anticipation. Tobias, however, doesn't realise that my reaction was not from nerves, but from excitement.
"Sorry baby." He mutters apologetically as he pulls away from my neck and lifts the top half of his body up to look down at me. I can see fangs resting on his lips, his wolf is pushing to the surface with the desire to mark me.
"Why did you stop? I don't want you to stop?"
"You don't want me to stop?" Tobias clarifies as he bites his lip in apprehension.
I shake my head, "I don't you to stop."
Tobias swallows hard and looks back down to my neck before exhaling deeply. He nods his head and shuffles back down my body slightly.
"You're sure? You want this?"
"Yes, yes I want this. I want you."
Grinning down at Tobias, I lift my hand and gently stroke his cheek. Tobias turns his face into my caress and presses a kiss to my palm. His eyes gaze into mine one last time to check for one last sign of reassurance.
There is a coil of nerves in the pit of my stomach, once we do this I am Tobias' and he is mine. Once we do this Blake will have no claim over me whatsoever and that feels so amazing that I almost don't feel Tobias' lips begin to make the same slow descent down to the place where my neck meets my shoulder.
He eagerly begins to kiss at my soft skin and I let out a longing moan to communicate to Tobias that this is the place. This is the place that I want him to place his mark.
I feel his teeth elongate further and then I feel his fangs break through the skin on my neck. Gasping in delight as the pleasure courses through me, I pull tightly on his hair and he lets out a groan of pleasure alongside mine.
The glowing bond that has already been there for us, ever since the first moment he saw me in that apple tree, strengthens and comes to life in my veins. Once I feel the link between us fix, Tobias retracts his teeth and laps at the broken skin to heal it.
Then he lifts his body back up until he is looking directly down at me with a glowing smile on his lips.
"Hey baby." He murmurs as he strokes my cheek with his hand. "How do you feel."
I have no words to describe how I feel so I lean up and kiss him frantically. He returns my kiss without a moments pause and then I pull away to gasp in breath.
"Was that your answer?" He chuckles as he rolls off my body and lays on one side so his body is facing towards me. I can feel his desire burning through the bond and I know I want it.
"It was... and this is."
Taking a deep breath of courage I reach down to the hem of my T-shirt and lift it from my body. My nakedness is exposed to my mate's hungry eyes as he devours the sight of me.
"You're sure, Immy we don't have to."
"Tobias," I whisper in his ear, "I want to."
Hello my lovely readers,
After a few days pondering, I have made the decision to keep this book free of sexual content. I personally felt that it didn't match the story and the impact I was going for in this book.
I hope you understand and respect my decision.
If you haven't come from my other books, there is mature content in my MC's Viking Warriors series.
Thank you for reading xx
