"What?" I asked as I pulled away from her, looking at her as her eyes met mine. "What did you say?"

"I'm pregnant," she said again, raising her eyebrow. "What's wrong? Isn't this what we talked about...because you don't seem very happy."

"No!" I said quickly, to her surprise. "I'm very happy," I said with a grin, and to my relief, she gave me one in return. "It just caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting you to be at the top of the stairs."

A sly smirk spread across her face as she shook her head, turning around on her heels to go back to the bedroom. Naturally, I followed.

"I was on my way down to the garage to tell you, but you beat me to it," Audrey commented as we walked into the bedroom. Stuff was still everywhere all over the floor, but at least we started organizing it. "We can finally settle down like we talked about in Tokyo."

I nodded, chewing on the inside of my cheek as I went over to the dresser to change out of the jeans I was still wearing. "Everything's finally looking up for us. We deserve it, you deserve it."

I didn't know how to tell her that in the next few hours, I was going to be leaving for New Zealand, and hopefully returning in the next week. That's if everything went right. All I could think about at that moment was how mad, how heartbroken she was going to be.

"Han?" Audrey asked, snapping me out of my thoughts as she wrapped her arms around one of my arms and kissed my shoulder. "You alright?"

"Yeah," I said as I looked down at her, untangling our arms to bring mine around her waist and into my arms, hugging her close to me tightly. "I'm just really tired, we did a lot today," I chuckled, hoping she wouldn't pry too much into it.

"Well, let's go to bed, then," She smiled sleepily and reached up on her tippy toes to kiss me. I held her chin softly as I returned it. I didn't want to pull away, because I was scared it was going to be the last time I'd ever kiss her - she would probably leave me once she knew I took another job, and while she's pregnant.

We climbed up into the bed and settled in. I didn't hesitate to pull her in close to me as she got comfortable in her usual position - her head on my chest and her legs intertwined with mine. I played with her hair as my other arm dangled over her waist.

"I love you," I murmured as I placed a kiss on her forehead. "And our baby. Even if it all did happen within a few weeks," I chuckled, smiling when she laughed too. "But we've always moved pretty fast."

"It suits us," she said as she rubbed my chest. "Now we have to get used to slowing down."

"I'm sure we will," I said as I twirled the ends of her hair between my fingers. "I love you...until the world explodes."

"And until the world explodes, I love you," she said quietly as she kissed my chin.

She slowly drifted off to sleep, and I laid there for a couple hours until I knew for sure she was asleep and wouldn't wake up. When she rolled over away from me and wrapped herself in a blanket, I slowly got out of bed and pulled my jeans back on. As quietly as I could, I put some essentials in my backpack and put on my shoes, turning around to look at Audrey one more time. I swallowed harshly, not even wanting to picture how mad she was going to be when she woke up in a couple hours and I wasn't going to be there. I had just gotten her back, and I was leaving her again.

Slowly and quietly, I crept down the flight of stairs and successfully made it out the front door without a sound, where I met Mr. Nobody in his unmarked car down the road.

"Han," He greeted me as I slid into the front seat, shutting the door behind me. "Very nice of you to finally join me."

"You know I had to wait until Audrey was asleep to leave. She doesn't even know - she's gonna wake up in a couple hours and see that I'm not there. And she's pregnant, just to put the cherry on top," I said as I looked out the window while he drove me to the airport. "She's never going to speak to me again."
