"Go on, do it now."

I hesitated as I looked down at the iPad in front of me. My heart sank as I saw all the missed calls and messages. I was about to respond to him, but I was going to have to break up with him.

"What are you waiting for?" Takashi demanded, reaching for the gun that was resting on the bed. "Do I have to go back on what I said about not hurting a woman with child?"

"No," I answered quietly as I shakily clicked on his contact name. "Just wasn't expecting to have to break up with him today."

"Life sucks," He laughed as he sat down on the bed. "Don't keep me waiting. Find the money."

With a soft nod, I swallowed the lump in my throat as I pressed the call button, not wanting to hear his voice on the other line.

"Audrey!" He answered on the first ring. "Oh, my God. I thought you were mad at me. I'm so sorry for leaving you in the middle of the night after I promised I wouldn't. I'm so sorry, baby..."

"It's okay," I said softly as I looked up, meeting Takashi's gaze with that same stupid smirk on his face. "I was just wondering...where the safe was."

"What?" He asked with a laugh, which made me bite down on my lip. "You know where it is. It's in the garage...is everything okay?"

My eyes wandered along the gun that Takashi was holding in his lap. He'd heard the location of Han's safe with all of the money in it, and I was secretly hoping that would be enough, but I knew I had to break up with him to keep him alive.

"No," I said with a stifled laugh as I tried not to cry. "I uh..I think we need to...break up," I said as the line went silent.

"What? Audrey...are you serious?" He asked. I could hear the hurt in his voice which hurt me even more. "You can't be serious."

"I am," I said as I bit down so harshly on my lip that I thought it was going to bleed. "You said that you wouldn't do any more jobs, yet here you are...you lied to me."

"And I'm sorry, but I did it for us," He said. "That extra money means we're set for generations to come."

The smirk on Takashi's face was really starting to piss me off. I had a feeling he was going to kill me and go after Han no matter what I said to him, so I swallowed the lump in my throat and prepared for what I was about to do.

"Han, listen to me," I said as I stood up, which alarmed Takashi as he raised a brow. "Takashi is going to come for you. He kidnapped me and he's going to come for you!" I yelled as I dodged Takashi, running to the other side of the room. "He's coming for you, and the money!"

"You stupid bitch!" Takashi yelled as he tripped me, causing me to fall down on the floor. He snatched the iPad and disconnected the call as I was fighting to get away. "I'm definitely going to kill him now!"

I had caught myself with my wrist, and I was pretty sure it was broken, if not strained. As he stood over me, I tried to get up, but he kicked me back down by my chest and stepped on my wrist, making me scream as I naturally tried to pull it away.

"You just made everything 10 times hard for yourself and your dumb boyfriend," He said as he bent down and wound one of his hands in my hair. "Get up," He spat as I yelped in pain.

I got up, my wrist feeling like it was on fire, my head bleeding from the car wreck, and now this idiot's hand was about to rip my hair out, and had no choice but to follow him over the bed because he had a hold of my hair. There was no point in trying to put myself or the baby in any more danger than I already did.

He unwound his hand from my hair and pushed me forward to the bed, moving to grab the wrist that was not broken. With one swift motion, he chained it to the frame above my head, and now I was really stuck.

"Should I keep you here for your little boyfriend to find, or should I kill you now?" Takashi chuckled as he reached forward to stroke my hair, which I tried to move away from. "Or, I'll wait until he comes to find you, and kill you both at the same time. That'll teach you not to mess with what's mine."

After that, he dropped his hand, turned around and left me in the bedroom by myself. I didn't see much of a point in crying, it wasn't going to help my situation, but I was scared. I was scared that Takashi was going to actually kill Han and I was going to be without him for real this time, or kill both of us.

*** Han's POV ***

At first, I was shocked when the words "break up" had rolled off of Audrey's tongue so easily, but when she told me that Takashi had her and was coming after me next, I knew it all made sense.

When I heard her blood-curling scream and Takashi call her a bitch, I decided this job was over. I didn't care what happened to the drug lord or the cash house. I didn't care if he ever got caught. At that moment, I knew I needed to get home. I tossed the iPad in the passenger seat and pulled out of the place down the street my car'd been tucked into and sped off. Mr. Nobody must've detected it on his GPS, because I got a call a few seconds later.

"I'm going home," I cut him off after he said my name. "Takashi's got Audrey, and you said she'd be safe. I don't care if it's public knowledge that I'm alive now. I don't care. I'm done. I want out."

He sighed heavily over the phone. "I'm sorry they didn't do a great job this time, either. Do what you have to do."

I was expecting him to fight me, but maybe when he realized I'd made up my mind, he knew there was no changing it. The drive to the airport seemed like an eternity, and when I finally got there, I hopped out, grabbed my bag and went to go get on the next flight out of Auckland to Sydney.

While I was waiting, I called the one person I knew cared about Audrey as much as I did. I was probably going to get my ass beat into next week, but if it meant I could save Audrey and the baby, I didn't care.

"Han," Dom said as he picked up the phone on the first ring, as always. "I'm going to fucking kill you."

"I know," I said as I swallowed harshly. "I know I fucked up. But Dom, Takashi's got Audrey. I need your help."

"He WHAT?!" I heard his loud voice come through the speaker. "We're already on our way. Flight landed an hour ago. You get here as fast as you can."

"I will," I said as my eyes started to grow watery. "I'm scared, Dom. I don't want him to kill her."

"He's not going to kill her. I'll kill him first."

Over the loudspeaker, I heard that my flight was boarding. We said our goodbyes, and I boarded. This was about to be the longest flight of my life, and it was only the start of the race against time.
