Holding back kids by a school year is so weird. Especially kindergartners. Like, this kid obviously has needed extra help throughout the year, and yet you ignored them and their needs to the point where they have to watch all their friends move on to a whole other classroom and grade, while they end up stuck with kids they have never met before that are usually an entire year younger than them, both mentally and physically and emotionally and probably other things i can't think of right now. I can't imagine how isolating that must be. And for what? To see if teaching them the exact same thing (most likely with the same teacher so it'll be in the same style) for the second time will make them understand? Keep trying to shove that square into a circle shaped hole, public school system. Maybe if you cram it in hard enough, it'll fit someday.
