Chapter 5

Acceptance

In the bliss of the vast landscape, it is only him... it is only Kyle that I see glimmering in sweet ecstasy. It is only him that I see enticing amidst the beauty of the surroundings; Adding to that is his complexion made him even more stupendous. Gorgeous... Heavenly. As if reflecting the hues emitted by the lights.

I have, as of this moment, have accepted my fate in love-- being with a mortal forever.

I know it goes against the Law of Nature: Two different beings from two entirely different worlds. Our fate eclipsed, yet I don't know if our hearts do so, too.

Should I confess? Or should I just keep it all to myself and remain in the burrow of friendship forever? Weighing delight over distress, I think there's probably more distress. Father would be in fume learning I fell in love with a human and presumably, marrying him and also, what if Kyle see me only as a friend? Will our relationship change? Will he distance himself from me?

Sighing as I'm stuck in between the two options, I felt a hand wrapped around my wrist. Cold yet warm hands, which is weird because it sends electricity throughout my body. A spark incomparable to how my fireflies flutter in me. I look at my wrist first before looking at the one who did it. It was Kyle. He is directing me in a jog to somewhere. Confused, I follow along, and so did Silim.

"Where are we opting to go, Kyle?" Silim asked.

"There! " He pointed with his free hand, a castle with a cross. "The Kalibo Cathedral." He said proudly.

We have finally reached the place-- it's undoubtedly mesmerizing. I'm standing here, agape before the Kalibo Cathedral.

I feel Kyle released his hand from mine and I kind of feel dismay and rebellious. Can't we stay that way a little longer? He's a greedy.

Nevertheless, the ambience, the surroundings is a scenery to die for. There are light- bearing trees, grass is as green as those in the woods, human beings with beaming smiles on their faces, stars twinkling as if they're festive. Definitely, a beauty.

These ambience is so romantic and euphoric that helps me in deciding to follow my heart and pursue Kyle. I know I'd feel like this again, or even better if I can be with him, anywhere, anytime, as his husband.

We are already back in Kyle's apartment. While preparing ourselves to sleep, I kind of feel a little weak. I coughed a few times and so did Silim.

"Are you two, okay?" Kyle asks in concern.

"Uh huh." I answer with a smile. "I think I'm just tired but... I honestly did enjoy the trip, Kyle. Thank you... "

"Same here, Kyle." Silim seconded. "It's one of the better experiences I had so far in your world."

"You sure? Just don't take it minimally, okay? You are still fairies afterall. And we are in the city. Pollutions can harm you."

"We can handle ourselves, Kyle." Silim answers and smiled as assurance. "Though, I wish Wave was with us earlier."

Kyle and I look at each other and obviously, we had the same thought in mind.

"Silim?" I call him.

"Do you like Wave?" Kyle continues.

"Certainly! " Silim answers proudly.

"As a friend?" I continue asking.

He's in a thought. "Honestly not as a friend, Prince Ali... The first time I laid my eyes on him, something just hit my heart differently. It was like, screaming for him. It is craving for him." He was looking at the ground as he said those words.

"I know I'm a man and... he's a man, too, but... It is what it is... I'm sorry, Prince Ali..." He continues with a heavy heart.

I walk close to Silim and holds his shoulder. "Silim, you shouldn't apologize for loving someone."

Kyle hummed in agreement.

"It is never a sin... a mistake for loving someone of the same gender... Because in the most common sense, our hearts never had eyes... So we don't just fall in love because of what they are... we fall in love because of how we feel when we're with them. Do you feel like floating when you're with him? And the fireflies in your stomach?"

"Most definitely, Prince Ali." He answers in a happy yet low tone.

I smiled because I can feel his genuine love for Wave.

"But you only met him today..." Kyle suddenly uttered.

"I know, Kyle but... that's what mystifies me the most... Haven't you noticed how he glows when I touch him? The thing that don't happen when I touch someone else? My heart can never lie, Kyle."

"Is this the first time you fell in love?" Kule continues asking.

"I'm not quite sure... But it's definitely the first time I feel something like this... In my heart, Kyle, Prince Ali... It's foreign... It's... Genuine happiness... Like, I just wanna be with him every second of everyday."

Kyle smiled while Silim is answering. He walks close to us and lays his hand on Silim's shoulder. "I believe in the purity of your intentions, Silim."

Silim seems to be in a verge of tearing up.

"Your bravery to admit it to us shows how you trully love him... Regardless of limitations... Unconditional... That is why, as Wave's bestest friend, I can help you win Wave's heart."

"Really? Thank you, Kyle." Silim squealed as his tears escape his eyes. It's definitely tears of joy because even I would be in the same state if I could bravely announce my love to Kyle.

"Loving someone is never a crime, ok, Silim? Don't let society decide who you should love because they have the most shallow understanding of that... And besides, it's your heart, not theirs so... And, you already had an effect on him, too, right? " Kyle continues.

Honestly, even I could gain a higher level of bravery to confess my feelings for Kyle because of his words. But, I think I'm gonna wait for a better timing.

"Thank you, too, Prince Ali... I thought you'd despise me." He said as he hugs me.

"I would never do that, Silim. You've been my brother for the past years and, you've never done something wrong, too." I hug him back.

"I feel really blessed with the both of you... " Silim utters.

I hope Kyle would accept me as how much he accepted Silim for Wave.
